[Save and share this post with someone looking for a new weekend hangout in Singapore!]

We finally checked out New Bahru, Singapore’s newest lifestyle destination, and with its newly opened food hall, it’s now much more accessible for those looking for a casual lunch without splurging.

Housed in the former Nan Chiau High School, the charm of New Bahru isn’t just in the shops—it’s in the experience of wandering around. Every corridor and corner feels like an invitation to explore, with quirky independent brands, non-mainstream cafés and hidden gems waiting to be discovered.

Some of our favourites:
📚 @woodsinthebooks – loved the thoughtfully curated collection of titles.
🥟 @dumpling.darlings – surprisingly a hit with the Boays!
🍨 @parlourgelato – unique gelato flavours worth saving room for.
☕ @dearborn.newbahru – great coffee to round off the afternoon.

There’s still plenty we didn’t get to try, so we’ll definitely be back. One tip though: quite a number of stores are closed on Mondays, so it’s worth checking before heading down.

📍 Location: New Bahru
📍 Address: 46 & 58 Kim Yam Rd, Singapore 239351

🚆 MRT: Fort Canning (DT20)

🚌 Bus:
32, 54, 139, 195, 195A (Before Kim Yam Rd)
64, 123, 143 (UE Square)

🚌 Free Shuttle: Runs daily between Somerset MRT and New Bahru, departing every 30 minutes.

Save this for your next date but reservations required!

@ficomasseria food is really pretty good. Every dish was flavourful, we especially enjoyed the focaccia-pizza ($28), pork collar ($43), vongole ($34), mafaldine ($34).

Great beachfront and park vibes, has indoors and outdoors seats - outdoors is pet friendly!
