It’s been nearly two weeks since artists, performers and community members came together @aviary.edmonton for Held Together, our inaugural arts fundraiser in support of mental health.

We created Held Together to celebrate the role art can play in expression, connection and recovery while opening space for honest conversations about mental health and addiction.

As we look back on the evening, we’re sharing reflections from some of the incredible artists who brought it to life.

Thank you to everyone who shared their time, talent and stories. Together, we showed how creativity and community can help people feel seen, supported and less alone.

Letting go. Feeling alive. Washing away.

Reminiscing our first date and reflecting how far we have come. Four years. Feels like tomorrow when Mr. Cheesy opened the door for me. It was raining the day we met. Something was making us both flow.

This is a panjabi suit summer.

Yayy. My gulabi (pink) jutti and colorful chunni (scarf)

Three Gemini ladies ♊️ we are good people. Why di we have bad rep. Huh

Ohhh. To watch rain pouring on the leaves! Heaven.

Love showing people my Kaleidoscope!!!!! Dont even get me started on infinities.

Mehbooba with her new bag. It has a tomato on it.

Ready to perform the lost soul again. Its also on my youtube channel. Just type in arsheverest on youtube and you’ll see.

Performance for the Chinatown After Dark festival.

Love narrating the story of Luna. Grateful that Dan gave me an opportunity and I write this piece and put together this production which I didnt know I could. Someday, I am gonna give myself a chance and see what I am capable of doing.

Moon is my bestfriend. She sends the sun to lend me a shoulder to cry on.

So far so good.

On the way to Calgary.

Moon is my best friend. I inly think of her and she stands in front of me. Makes me smile. Admires my charm.
