@chris_crispy04, congratulations on Behind The Shades, bro. Thank you for trusting me with your vision. It’s been an awesome last couple years crafting the sound of this project with you. Came a long way from SoundCloud days too lol.

So excited for folks to meet the funky drummer turned singer Behind The Shades. Only up from here 🥂

All the love to an all-star cast of homies who lent their magic to these songs: @viiince_music @jon.gk @verruca.salt @syd @jmothegreat @rfisher89 @ttatemusic @itsmy_kail

𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐀𝐋𝐋-𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐘𝐋 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄-𝐌𝐈𝐗 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐘𝐎𝐁𝐈

Last Thursday I played at Kinyobi and the full four hours are now up on their SoundCloud.

So go digging deep with me as I dive into underground 12” records and their roots exploring samples, breaks, library music and rare grooves.

Here’s a few clips from that evening, including a clip of what keeps me going - someone noticing a record I play and commenting on it 🎧❤️

Slide 1: Ghostfunk / Max Tannone - Three Lords -> Mattis & Dogbite - papier-maché

Slide 2: Shatter Hands - For Better Or Worse feat. Nanna B (FloFilz Remix) -> Tadaaki Misago & Tokyo Cuban Boys - Jongara Reggae

Slide 3: Hiroshi Suzuki - Romance -> Independent Orchestra - Heavy Lifting

Slide 4: 内山田洋とクール・ファイブ - 悲恋長崎 -> Atmosphere - God’s Bathroom Floor

#SonicLove ✨️ Mark de Clive-Lowe and Nanna.B tonight at @thesunrosemusic, #WestHollywood...

Presented by City of West Hollywood for 2026 Winter Sounds Concert Series 🎶

About The Artist:
Mark de Clive-Lowe is a genre-bending pianist, producer, and composer known for fusing jazz with elements of electronica and live remixing. With roots in London’s broken beat movement and deep ties to LA’s jazz renaissance, he transforms each performance into a one-of-a-kind sonic journey blending rhythm, melody, and technology live on stage.

Nanna.B is a Danish-born singer, songwriter, and producer known for crafting genre-defying soundscapes that blend lush, atmospheric production with her golden vocals and poetic storytelling. She has been featured on global platforms such as Beats 1, Vice, and Highsnobiety, and on stations like KCRW, Jazz FM, and BBC Radio.

Thank you so much to "youandthemusic.com" for another opportunity to speak about this album. The support from everyone has been unbelievable and I am grateful. I’ve been through so much and witnessed my loved ones, my family struggle. From the death of one my closest mentors, trumpet teacher, to the loss of family…one of my moms closest friends/sister….who was a sister/aunt to me. The loss of extended family. the loss of old relationships…watching my stepdad and uncle lose their homes to the Altadena fire. the godfather of my son and his wife struggling with insurance companies and battling through the damage of their home. These past few years have been hard. Having to battle depression and heartache. So to come out on the other end, receiving the love and organic support of this album. With no label , but with the support of people like @kennyandtheicecream @bridgethegapmgt @delia.tesi @kevin__cavill @daboyboyburgundy @mrgarfieldadams @1968soulpower @coryisvanguard @sheets0fsound @gbdrn @omnei_being @sam_reid1 @lukestrocity @jonathanpinson @jodyg4d @m_0ther @serg_srb @anthonyoromusic @lobudgetchild @binglejoy2.0 @delquadrotrumpets @bobreevesbrass @artworkbycs @1camille.ramirez @jimettarose @miguelatwoodferguson and everyone who wasn't mentioned. All of the radio spins the album and the singles have received… just a huge thanks to everyone. More good news to come. Emile & The Education is going international.

Just before the lockdowns @lobudgetchild played @fightclublbc down in Long Beach.
Originally from Denmark, Nanna.B is now based in Los Angeles.
The self-described Scandi witch doesn’t cast spells but she does have an enchanting voice, and she put on an emotion performance.
She’s also got commanding vibrato you can hear on ‘Beaches’ from her album ‘Solen.’
Hosted at @queseralb, this was held early in February 2020.
