Came back from our Hearts for Hearing event in Tulsa feeling inspired… only to find our fence destroyed by that Kansas storm. 😅 Threw on my dry-fit Carhartt hoodie, a USA hat, put on a country voice and said, “Let’s lift them suckers up.” 💪🇺🇸

Shoutout to our security cameras for letting us know Bella was out living her best life.

But here’s the real takeaway: Sometimes you come home to a mess. Sometimes the season is heavy. But God gives grace for the season you’re in. Trust Him, even when the wind knocks things down.

WHAT IS TIME? 🏜️⏳

According to Wikipedia, time is the continuous progression of our changing existence that occurs in an apparently irreversible succession from the past, through the present, and into the future. It is a component quantity of various measurements used to sequence events, to compare the duration of events (or the intervals between them), and to quantify rates of change of quantities in material reality or in the conscious experience. Time is often referred to as a fourth dimension, along with the three spatial dimensions of height, width and depth. Scientists have theorized a beginning of time in our universe (the Big Bang) and an end (e.g., heat death or the Big Crunch). A cyclic model describes time in a cyclical nature, whereas the philosophy of eternalism views the subject from a different angle.

Perched on an obscure ledge on the Grand Canyon’s northern rim, one is afforded the opportunity to fully appreciate the value of time and just how long it takes to carve or to create something beautiful. By all estimates, the Grand Canyon is 5 to 6 million years old based on the dating of the Colorado River’s path and its erosion patterns. However, the rock layers exposed in the canyon are much older: the youngest rock layers at the top are about 270 million years old and the oldest rock layers at the bottom, known as the VISHNU SCHIST are about 1.7 to 2 billion years old. Recent studies suggest that portions of the canyon may have started forming as early as 70 million years ago, but the primary carving of the canyon by the Colorado River began around 5 to 6 million years ago.

So the next time you consider building something beautiful, just remember the time it took for the Colorado River to make this place look so majestic and apply that same concept of time and patience to something worthwhile in your own life. Your time is now. What are you waiting for?
