Human connection is a gift, and making those connections is a blessing. I attended Chef Sanza’s @yeovilledinnerclub pop-up in Cape Town earlier this year, still dreaming about his cassava leaves and storytelling 7 months later. Two weeks ago, I met Alison at @localmagicwisdom - the culinary content studio she’s been building with her heart and hands (and has the power tools to prove it) on Historic Peters Street. We got connected about hosting a game night with @thisisplotshift - the game I created in SA. So I showed it in action…at that dinner in Cape Town. “We should do something like that here.” We both agree. Then a week ago, I ran into Sanza at @hitpatlanta I don’t believe in coincidences. I connected the dots, and just like watercolors, they bloomed. What happened around that table felt significant. Substantial in a way you often can’t see while you’re living inside the moment. The pan-African flavors. The new friendships. The energy that kept the conversations going til morning. If you were there, you’re not forgetting this one. It was a reminder of what community and connection feels like. Thank you Damola and @bayabgin for introducing us to the baobab plant. We created a saffron pineapple spritzer, and just like its name, it gave us life. Thank you to everyone in the room. The magic was built from community. This is Atlanta at its finest. Big things happen in small rooms. 🤎 Vol. 01 is a wrap and I’m still processing everything that happened in that space on Peters Street. We collabed with the incredible Chef JRob — Executive Chef of Setting the Table ATL — and some of Atlanta’s most intentional local magic to bring this table to life. The food, the energy, the room — all of it was built with purpose. And then the room surprised us. We had a special treat — some of Atlanta’s most talented artists in the building. Got a chance to connect with Andre Henderson, Mya Bailey, and a room full of creatives whose work is going to be everywhere soon. We talked collabs, future events, and what’s possible when you put the right people together. Nobody planned it. The room just did what good rooms do. This is just the beginning. Universe, I hear you. Today I had the pleasure of securing a partnership with an incredible venue — a space made for garden dinners, meaningful conversation, and bringing the right people together. Later, I got the opportunity to tour what I’d call Peter Street’s best-kept secret. We discussed the possibility of hosting Friday daytime gatherings centered around work, jazz, thoughtful discussion, and creative connection alongside the founder of this beautiful establishment. My favorite area in marketing has always been community engagement… so yes, prepare to be engaged. Moments like these remind me that sometimes you are simply a vessel for the work that is meant to come through you. I can feel alignment happening in real time, and it truly feels like something special is about to unfold — not only for me, but for the people connected to me as well.
