Lorena Gonzalez is a surfer and a marine biologist studying coral reef. Ever since she was a little girl growing up in her native Cuba, she liked being close to the ocean. Her father was a lifeguard and her mother always had a strong relationship with the ocean. And once Lorena began to bond with the water surrounding her island home, she knew it would become one of the focal points of her life.

Sometimes a good surf film comes along when you least expect it... Surf Cuba was one for us.

This Saturday night we have curated a special night of 5 surf films (Surf Cuba is in the line up) that will play on the big screen, under the stars, at @theredoesnotexist brewery here in San Luis Obispo.

If you can't join us in person, it's also available virtually. Ticket proceeds go directly to @ccspateam and their important work in our local state parks.

Thinking about skiing right now feels so backwards and inappropriate... but I also can’t help but think about all the wild places I’ve been privileged enough to explore on skis and how *desperately* I want to keep them around for generations to come. I want a chance to help make wild places accessible to those who haven’t had access in the past, and I want a chance to give back to those who’s land we’ve stolen and help them protect their resources we’ve exploited. I want to use my passion for skiing to be a steward for our land, and to be a responsible and compassionate citizen!
