There are really no words big enough to say THANK YOU. ❤️ Sounds of the Zoo 2026 is officially in the books, and I’m still trying to process what happened. Seven days. 8 locations. 40+ artists. 70+ sponsors and community partners. To our artists, volunteers, production teams, sponsors, community partners, friends, family, students, venues, and everyone who showed up and helped make this happen—thank you. And to the people who simply came out, danced, listened, connected, and became part of something happening right here in Kalamazoo—thank you. And this year felt different. There was an energy. A feeling that people weren’t just coming to a music festival—they were beginning to understand what Sounds of the Zoo is really about. Creating change through music. Creating spaces where people feel welcome. Putting incredible artists in front of new audiences. Supporting local businesses and musicians. Making room for different cultures, different sounds, different generations, and different people. Getting people outside, moving, listening, talking, laughing and dancing together. And most importantly: collaboration over competition. Sounds of the Zoo is a FREE community festival, and that only happens because so many people choose to believe in it and contribute what they can. To every artist who played. To every venue that opened its doors. To every sponsor and community partner who said YES. To every volunteer who showed up. To every person who lifted something, hauled something, plugged something in, answered a question, took a photo, made a post, poured a drink, directed traffic, solved a problem, or stayed late. And to the City of Kalamazoo—thank you for supporting Sounds of the Zoo and helping us bring this festival to life in our community. Thank you for opening the doors to our city, supporting Bronson Park as our home base, and helping create space for music, art and community to come together. To our incredible production, stage, sound, lighting, photo, video, social media, IT and operations teams. And to the people who simply showed up. You are the festival.
