art meets interior //// locastro x nine fourteen A 1970s Milo Baughman swivel lounge chair for Thayer Coggin—tufted upholstery on a molded fiberglass shell—anchors this minimal composition alongside contemporary sculpture. Polished concrete, integrated lighting, and restrained materiality create spatial dialogue between art and design. Shared aesthetic sensibilities across different mediums. @locastro (sculpture) × @ninefrtn (furniture and decor) 📍 Miami

New work for Miami art week 👽@surfacesystem1 x @locastro👽 Built through a multi-layered casting process. Hand-masked & painted, no stencils or vinyl, just hand-pulled lines working toward symmetry. The result is a single translucent piece where geometric shapes appear suspended within the solid form. Light passes through, creating shifting refractions of color and shadow.

Back when we were kids navigating bicultural childhoods in post-Chernobyl, pre-reunification Germany—he, the indomitable son of Chilean and German parents; me, the curious Sicilian kid, always with pencil and paper at the ready—we dreamed big and scribbled bigger. Fast forward to now: I’m beyond elated to announce that I’ve had the joy of collaborating with my lifelong friend, Matthias Santiago Staehle, on his newly published bilingual book of poetry, ‘Rote Sonnengänge – walking under a red sun.’ Matthias’s poems bridge the political and the personal, the conspiratorial and the tender, with a lyrical voice that hits hard while staying strangely human. I contributed the cover art and book illustrations—and after decades of parallel creative lives, we finally brought our worlds together. The book spans writings from 2017–2025, includes the 3 poems that won him the Polly-Prize for political lyricism, and is available in both German and English. 📕✨ Available now on Amazon and www.epubli.com. #RoteSonnengänge #PoetryAndArt #visualverse #lifelongfriends
