@atlantafx 📸 Dump + Story 1. I found out @donaldglover was a complete goofball! The conversation before these photos were taken was hilarious 😂🙌🏾 best director ever! 2. Me being obsessed with my first time on sound stages.. everything is huge and felt surreal 😍 3. A beautiful surprise seeing my headshot on the wall at the production office after my fitting 🥹🙌🏾🔥 4. THE FOOD ON THIS SHOW HITS 👅 5. Fun fact: I was on my period while shooting 😭 so I wore a pair of mens boxers (from wardrobe) underneath my skirt.. could you tell 👀 the show must go on 🦾 6. My little section in the costume department at my fitting 🔥 7. S/o to my PA for taking this pic for me in between filming on location 🫶🏾 8. My second day/week of shooting we switched locations to @trilithstudios can you tell they edited 2 different studios in my scene 🤫 9. PURE HAPPINESS 😄 10. GOD DID! My time on @atlantafx will forever be a fond memory of mine! This entire experience felt like a LONG TIME PRAYER finally coming true! My 1st time doing comedy (which I love)😍 On the 1st day of work I did a run through w/ director @donaldglover & threw some improv in there he loved it so they kept it 🙌🏾 My 1st “SAG WEEKLY” as well s/o to my agents @htagency & @mystiebuice 🤑💸 I drove home crying b/c I felt so seen, loved, & appreciated 😭 I saw all the dots, hard work, blood sweat & tears I’ve put into my craft for YEARS PAY OFF! My whole spirit was shook as I was distinctly aware I was “LIVING IN AN ANSWERED PRAYER” 🙏🏾🥹 Let’s do a mini story time shall we: When I got this audition it was one of the “smallest” I had on my plate at the moment (respectfully) I was auditioning multiple times a day for leads, supporting etc. I remember thinking okay let me knock this out really quick & get back to the 10 pagers 🥵.. HOWEVER I didn’t slack in my preparation or delivery! I knew it was a comedy & the tone so I went for my version of who the “Tour Guide” could be! What presented in the audition as “2 lines” was actual “2 pages” of dialogue (plus a lil more cuz I improvised shit 😉😂😎). Sent off the 2 takes & MONTHS LATER I BOOKED IT! I was so confused 🤣 didn’t even remember doing it 🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️ but boy what a blessing this became! Grateful to be apart of this shows legacy & message especially as a TRUE ATLANTA NATIVE 🍑‼️ Big thank you to @tarafeldstein & @chase68 for the opportunity! #MESSAGE : Actors stay down. Respect the craft! No matter how big or little you think an audition is GIVE IT YOUR ALL ✅ Show up to the best of your ability as an ARTIST! Then take your hands off it & press on 🦾 I’m living proof that ur hard work & artistry WILL GET NOTICED! One Love, Carmen 🤍 P.S. if u missed my episode stream on @hulu “Season 4 Episode 5”.. as the “Tour Guide” ✨ BTS #VLOG COMING SOON ➡️ #YOUTUBE “Carmen Alexis” 🎥🔥 #CarmenAlexisTheBrand #WhenDreamsComeTrue #GodDid #ActorsLife #AtlantaFX #DonaldGlover #Atlanta #StrongBlackLead #AtlantaActor #BlackGirlMagic #BlackContentCreator #AtlantaInfluencer #WomenInFilm #Acting #SetLife #Blessed
