POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

been a minute since we’ve covered the uk grime scene and here we are today 💛🇬🇧

paul stephan is an artist you know if you’re tapped in with that scene. he has this really deep and booming voice that commands your attention on tracks like “u feel good.” it’s really reminiscent of other uk rappers like stormzy and skepta in the way that his voice just cuts through with his deep tone and sharp diction

bexblu’s production on this feels so nostalgic and lays a great foundation for paul to slide on. it has a little bit more of a nostalgic and warmer feel than a lot of paul’s other tracks, but he keeps up his same intensity in his delivery

paul has formed a great relationship with the producer bexblu and it’s led to this really strong rapper/producer duo. tracks like “never relax” showcase the symbiotic way that they push eachother’s artistry. here paul is able to shine through on a more electronic beat

paul is a very strong storyteller on this track as he talks about his musical upbringing and rejecting modern trap music. it’s also a very socially conscious performance from paul that shows he’s just as passionate about society’s blemishes as well as his artistry

“lost not found” is probably one of paul’s most biting and aggressive tracks. the nostalgic and relaxing beat from bexblu provides the perfect backdrop for paul to have a juxtaposing punchy performance

this is a good example of how paul has been bringing that classic uk grime genre back to the forefront of the underground. punchy and aggressive bars with a socially conscious message paul mix perfectly with nostalgic and soothing production

what do y’all think? are you familiar with uk grime rap? what do you think about his work with bexblu? lmk below love y’all <3
