🎉 3 Years of ETS WDM 🎉

LOVE. GRIT. GRATITUDE.

A gym: it’s the most unlikely place for kids to forge meaningful relationships and develop life skills far outside of moving iron. BUT, that’s exactly what’s happened.

@ellehatlevig was the third athlete to walk through our doors. With a gas leak nearby we had to evacuate and finish her evaluation at a Starbucks. We thought that was a bad omen for where the gym was headed, little did we know the relationship that we would develop with Elle & @jameshatlevig08 over the next 3 years (and counting).

There’s been more laughs in the gym than we could count, whether it’s @landonhansonn @owenjohnston23 @alonso.veras7 talking about who can jump higher or has more “rizz?”

Or @b.jorgy & @q.jorgensen every time they just look at each other 😂

Don’t even get me started about when @baldwin_cadence @annie10adams & @ev_asplund are all in the gym at the same time…

There’s been so many memories.

The Nashleanas brothers and when they show up to speed plus dressed the same.

@riley_mccaulley lifting an absurd amount of weight on one foot.

The McCanns just being the most athletic yet humble family.

@nathannguyen.3 and his detailing business.

@lauren_clarke08 driving 40 minutes each way 500+ times.

The Nagels ripping weights & helping us move gyms.

Grayson Goodchild & Johnny Depp.

Reagan Wey trying to trip Austin at every opportunity.

@paytonktravis controlling the Aux.

Evalyn bringing party hats.

@braylyn.birm trying to put together a chair.

@daltondeboer1 @jacksondaviss9 @tyson_davis2 @aden_1164 ripping the bike.

The Klein family doing an extra 50 reps so they can beat each other in literally anything.

@jayden.chumba flexing in the mirror.

Max Roenfanz and @tate.valenta lifting absurdly heavy weights without saying a word.

@leahbrauchhh beating @mavopp10 in competition finishers.

@tahnee.scheuchl doing anything with a barbell and telling people they have Ricky’s.

The Poutrés and their humor

The list goes on. We love these kids. They consistently embrace doing hard things and we could not be more grateful for each and every athlete and parent that is part of the ETS Family ❤️ 🖤

How many Ames wrestlers does it take to take down Division I wrestlers Carson Floyd and Logan Stotts?!

A LOT. 💪

What a way to close out our final session—energy high, smiles everywhere, and a room full of athletes giving everything they had. Moments like this are what make our club special.

Thank you to @carsonfl03 and @logan.stotts7 for jumping in and making it unforgettable.

We will miss this group more than you know.
Until next time… 🤼‍♂️🔥

HAMSTRINGS

Why are they important?

1. Developing SPEED:

An increase in hamstring strength yields the capability for longer strides and a faster sprint.

2. Improving JUMPS:

A stronger, more resilient hamstring can absorb and produce more force, which creates a better jumper.

3. Training DECELERATION:

Hamstring injuries are often associated with acceleration/top speed (those definitely happen). However, deceleration is another common area for athletes to experience hamstring injuries. There’s no such thing as injury prevention, but stronger hamstrings reduce the likelihood of this happening.

How do we train hamstrings?

1. Hip Hinge Exercises

RDLs, Goodmornings, Back Extensions, etc.

2. Knee Flexion Hamstring Exercises

Manual Resistance/Banded Curls, Glute/Hamstring raises, etc.

3. Hip Extension Exercises

Glute bridges, Pull Throughs, etc.
