📚 FDOS - Weinstein Edition 📚
After minimal begging…and a slightly intimidating text from Seth…our college kids obliged and sent their ‘first day’ pics to the Fam group chat! 🥰

Get after it, ya’ll! Can’t wait to watch you both kill it this year!

Wait.
Whatttttt?
The graduation trip we were looking forward to has already come and gone?!
“Mi no ta gust’e”
That’s ’I don’t like that.’ in Papiamento.
Aruba, we’ll see you again soon.

The Amazon boxes that have filled the corner of the dining room all summer are gone, Otis is confused and Dad and I are already bored.
But now it’s your turn!
We are so, so happy for you.
Because we know how lucky we are that you’ve picked a spot you feel fits you best and happens to be semi-close to home.
We know how hard you’ve worked to find a place you see yourself thriving both on and off the field.
Yet it still feels more bitter than sweet because we got pretty used to you filling this house with laughter and friends and silly little sayings and our private little jokes and so - SO - much laundry.
But…IT’S YOUR TURN, LO!
So get on out there and do what you do!
“Love youuuuuu, Byyyyye!”

And just like that…it’s all over.
If I could do it all again…I wouldn’t get annoyed when cleats were outgrown, white pants needed scrubbing, or our seeding meant an 8am game.
I wouldn’t complain about a real feel of 98°, or a drizzly October Sunday that had me in the attic pulling out Under Armours & winter coats.
I’d probably be kinder to umps (maybe), and might stare daggers a little less at opposing moms that yelled ‘finish him!’ when the count was full.
I definitely DEFINITELY would have used my cow bell more.
Everyone keeps reminding me, so kindly, that this is how it goes…that we’re ‘on to the next…’ but my God…10 years of travel ball went by in an *actual* blink of an eye - so why am I so shocked that our very last tournament went by at warp speed too?
Happy to have spent ‘the last’ with an amazing group of fellas and families at Virginia Tech, watching them compete at a level of competition that they once couldn’t wait to be at someday…but here they are…just like that…and I can’t wait to see what’s next for them.
