There are a lot of ways to solve these short-side/dead-angle attacks ➡️ RVH, VH, overlap. A lot of it depends on the goalie, where their weight is in the moment, and what the play is giving us.

The bigger skill underneath all of it is spatial awareness and being able to find movement solutions on the fly. Knowing where you are, how much net is behind you, where your weight is, and assessing the threat to understand what options you have.

The game has too many variables to have one answer for everything. Develop the tools, then learn to solve the problem in front of you.

Speed isn’t brute force.
It’s timing. It’s sequencing.

This is especially important in post-to-post sequencing — how efficiently you connect one movement to the next.

That connection primes the next action and keeps you visually attached to the puck.

@logan_macmillan33 looking smooth and under control.

We started by building a strong base — focusing on tall hips, a neutral spine, and engaged core stability.
Once that foundation was locked in, we began to stress his posture through dynamic lateral recoveries, ensuring his base integrity remained consistent under pressure.

Key Focus Points:
• Feet maintain consistent width through each recovery — no drifting apart.
• Edge integrity stays strong and controlled. (Grips the ice w/ every drop)
• Weight remains centered and managed for efficient recoil and re-engagement.

Build stability first, then learn to move dynamically without losing structure 💪
