Cooper’s Color Code is a simple way to rate how alert you are. Swipe through 👉
⚪ WHITE: Switched off. Earbuds in, head down, no idea who’s around you. Most travelers live here, and that’s who gets targeted.
🟡 YELLOW: Relaxed but aware. You’re not paranoid, you’re paying attention. You know where the exits are and who’s nearby. This is where you should be any time you’re out in public.
🟠 ORANGE: Something’s off. You’ve spotted a specific possible threat. Watch it and make a plan: “If he does that, I do this.”
🔴 RED: Act. The trigger happened. You run your plan without hesitating.
Staying in Yellow on the road:
✅ Pick a spot where you can see the door, in restaurants and hotel lobbies
✅ Know two ways out of anywhere you stop
✅ One earbud at most in transit hubs
✅ Keep your bag and documents on you, not on the next chair
✅ If something feels off, it is. Leave or move before it turns into Orange.

So, about last weekend… What you’re seeing is my first jump since 2014 (on a military freefall ODA) and first ever jump in a civilian rig. So many emotions leading up to this. Obviously the nerves but also the excitement of knowing I was going to get to do something again that I had loved doing so much. But for the week up to it, there were a ton of nerves. Even through the morning preparation, still had tons of nerves. But when I put the chute on and got on the plane, something weird happened. All the nerves went away. I couldn’t believe it, I thought that’s when I’d be most nervous. But something took over and I was stoked to go out of that plane. If you watch the video you can see stiffness in my arch on the exit. But then it all clicked. All the jumps, all the wind tunnel time, all the training came back at once. And I was flying again. I want to give a huge thanks to @blackriflecoffee and @cleared.hot for organizing the Vet Boogie Lite, because of them I was lucky enough to be surrounded by some incredibly experienced skydivers/friends this weekend which gave me the positive peer pressure I needed. Always thankful to have @jtarticle15 @nwitteguns and @kellyd3454 making sure I’m involved. Thanks so much to @byron_bts_k9 for helping get me prepped and ready and fully confident to get back up there. Biggest thanks to @methodendeavors for running me through everything on the ground and then jumping with me to check my proficiency. Shoutout to @im.trying.my.worst for letting me borrow his lid for the jump, made me look exceptionally cool. I’m fully hooked again, planning my next jumps and shopping for a rig. I can’t wait to jump with you boys again and everyone else out there jumping that wants to go. Met so many great people and watched so many people tandem for their first time and want to go get their licenses. Spoke with a man who had just done his first jump in 53 years (he had over 600 jumps in the 1960’s 👀) What an epic weekend, feels so good to be back. #skydive #militaryfreefall #alicense
