Day 141 of the Great Colorado Route!

Today I complete the 2021-mile trek across Colorado's most treasured and hidden gems by returning to where I started at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.

I've had a tremendous amount of fun on this journey, and I'm very grateful for the amount of interest this project has received.

One of the words I heard most frequently in the comments, especially on Facebook, was the word "vicarious." I covered some serious ground and terrain largely inaccessible to vast majority of folks with different skillsets and abilities. So glad I was able to share them with you and helped spark an interest in exploring and preserving our precious public lands.

Huge shout to the various donors, brands, journals, lodges, stores, hikers, townfolk, trail maintainers, land managers, etc etc that helped make this project a reality 🤘

I'm not disappearing forever, but content will definitely slow down as a I take a well-earned break. If you don't already, please consider following my main Instagram account @theicemanhiketh for future adventures, and this account for future developments. Plenty of work remains in making the best Colorado thru hike possible.

Last week we had the opportunity to team up with @downtowngj and CMU to participate in the Rural Entrepreneurship Symposium.

We got to pair up with Seth from @lokigear to talk about branding, starting small businesses in rural areas and about building community. One of our favorite things about the Western Slope is collaborating with local breweries and businesses. Of course everyone else’s favorite is getting to try beer straight from the tank!

They all got a sneak peek of Tiki Tour our collab with @hottomatopizza to celebrate their 21st anniversary! It releases tomorrow so make sure you stop by the taproom to give it a try.

⛷️ I finally got to share my most favorite ski resort with my family this past week 🥲

Growing up in Ouray, Telluride was my “home mountain”. I used to go every weekend in middle school, and I loved it…

but I truly had no idea how blessed I was to get to be skiing at one of the best places in the entire world!

We’ve camped in Telluride quite a few times as a family. I really love the area. So when Scott won 4 lift tickets in a golf tournament last fall, it was time to plan a full ski trip here! The boys spent 2 days in ski school, and Scott and I hit it hard (20 times up the lifts on the second day?!!).

Isle is a daredevil on the mountain, and I feel like I’m going to have a heart attack every time I watch him go down 🤦‍♀️🤪😵‍💫

We all had such a great time (despite my super sunburned face). We will definitely be back for another skiing adventure 💞

🏔️ You know what they say, “If you’re lucky enough to live in the mountains, you’re lucky enough” … We sure are lucky to live in Colorado!! 🥹
