Thank you to all who attended our sold-out Season 1 Screening of “4x4: Contemporary Art in Chicago” at @mcachicago. ✨ The night exceeded our expectations! It was an honor to witness Chicago’s art community come together.

"Spatial Poems" is officially on view in MASS MoCA's Building 4 galleries!

Featuring the work of Cecilia Vicuña, Sam Frésquez, and Lola Ayisha Ogbara, the exhibition's parts work together in euphonious rhythm, creating a score or, spatial poem, across the expansive gallery. Through sound, fiber, ceramic, text, and repetition, each artist's work explores ephemerality and memory through a different lens, coming together into one multifaceted whole.

Took me some time to get around to this post. I’ve been wrapping my head around everything that transpired over the last few months.

Everyone see’s the end result, but it was the journey to get to this point that felt transformational. From the minute I met with @a.n.gunter , @jjjjjjase & Kiki it was all vibes. I later met @hab_hop , @yelenasimone & the rest of the team.

I went through stages of planning and working on “Cosmic Shift” specifically for this show. The entire team trusted my vision with a work unseen.

I finished the piece and opening day feels like it came around so quickly! I got to meet some extremely talented and amazing artists. We are apart of something special, together! *we making history yall* 😂

& then my family, my friends 🥲❤️. Yall really showed up and showed out for me. Pulled up from all across the country, booked hotels just to spend a couple of hours to celebrate with me. I’m so thankful for everyone who was there for me, & everyone who was rooting from a distance.

I appreciate the flowers. 💐
It felt great to be seen.

In just over a week, "Spatial Poems" opens in our Building 4 galleries on May 23!

Curated by Marissa Del Toro in collaboration with Ninabah Winton and Jamillah Hinson, the exhibition is inspired by the 'precarios' created by artist Cecilia Vicuña (whose work is pictured here). Featuring Vicuña's work alongside that of Sam Frésquez and Lola Ayisha Ogbara, the exhibition plays off and responds to the themes that the 'precarios' evoke, coming together to explore ephemerality, memory, and cyclical repetition through a range of materials and compositional approaches.

Fade is now open @studiomuseum . I couldn’t be more proud, fulfilled and grateful to be in context with this group of incredible artists, the museum’s long standing legacy of “F” shows that have featured artists that I admire deeply and have paved the way for creatives like myself.

Thank you to Yelena, Jayson, Habiba, Adria and Kiki for your devotion and care around this exhibition and being amazing to work with and thank you to @thelmagolden for your leadership and trust.

Saturday 1-4 PM the Audible Gallery at Experimental Sound Studio will feature the October 4, 2024 edition of 𝘈 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘸.

This variety show at Berger Park featured contributions from Noa Micaela Fields, Remy Guzman, Andres L. Hernandez, Imani Jackson, Regina Martinez, Lynneah McCarrell, Lola Ayisha Ogbara, and Carissa Pinckney. The show was recorded by Kate In. The audio recording we're sharing is 88 minutes long, and will play twice during open hours.

The 2024 event was organized by Jared Brown and AJ McClenon. You can catch jingles that Jared and AJ made for the Edgewater Library and Kim's Hardware in the Audible Gallery at Experimental Sound Studio throughout the run of the project, concluding June 6, 2026.
