For this week’s feature, we chat with the team about their much-loved independent cinema: the volunteers keeping it running, their connection to Sir David Lean, and their plans to welcome more people through those beautiful Victorian doors.

at @dakadaka.london hitting up the new SUNDAY SUPRA I’ll be damned, thing is more impressive that an electric car doing a kick flip…and quite frankly, it makes more sense.

This platter is gorgeous - the best of Georgia on a huge platter from Khinkali dumplings to cheesy Khachapuri and everything in between with a choice of mixed grill, spatchcock chicken or a traditional bean stew and for £28pp is farking good value.

Big ups to @mitzvora and the team for this - fark Sunday roasts y’all and get some real flavour.

The renowned author of Treasure Island and Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde was 44 when he died, the cause of which is still debated today.

Some reports claim that Robert Louis Stevenson was opening a bottle of wine when he turned to his wife and exclaimed “what’s that?!” and “does my face look strange?!” before collapsing. Others claim it was a jar of mayonnaise he was straining, but sources are unsure whether it was apoplexy, a stroke or a brain hemorrhage that took his life.

Stevenson is commemorated by a plaque at Abernathy House, Mount Vernon. During his stay here, he described Hampstead as “the most delightful place for air and scenery near London.”

Plaza Khao Gaeng - Tottenham Court Rd, London, UK

Finally tried Plaza Khao Gaeng!! They specialize in Southern Thai food, which is known for being extra spicy. I wasn't expecting much spice-wise bcs i thought they'd tone it down to suit the white people palate 🫣 but oh i was wrong

Started with the Yum Sapparot (£10), which is a Thai pineapple salad. Very similar to Indonesia’s asinan with that sour, sweet and spicy combo. Really refreshing

Then the Pad Phet Pla, a spicy sea bream curry, which was my fav. The curry was packed with flavour, super fragrant, savory and SPICYYY. The fish was soft and tender and really soaked up all that sauce. There were also these tiny green things that looked like mini grapes, so i tried one and it was bitter. Googled it afterwards and apparently they're Thai pea eggplants. But honestly the curry itself was sooo good, def my no. 1 🤤

Also got the Gaeng Gati Kung, a tiger prawn curry with coconut milk. This one was more on the sour side, kinda reminded me of tom yum but with coconut milk. You'd think it'd be similar to tom kha, but this was actually much more sour and punchy. The coconut milk gave it some creaminess but didn't overpower that tangy flavor

Then the Beef Massaman Curry (£19). This one was completely different from the others, much milder and more aromatic with warm spices. The beef was tender and had this slightly sweet aftertaste that actually reminded me of Indonesia’s Semur Daging. Rich, savory, a lil sweet and very comforting, especially after all those spicy dishes

Also shoutout to the staff!! When we asked to takeaway our leftovers, he actually gave us extra curry sauce from the kitchen without us even asking. Such a sweet gesture bcs obv we needed more of that sauce 🤭

In general, I love a good almond croissant, but occasionally I like to try other nutty creations, and this time, I tried @farha.london 's Pecan Double Baked 🤎.

The base of this bake is made up of their plain croissant 🥐 and is very well filled with a brown butter pecan frangipane 🌰🤎🧈 and maple syrup 🍯 which gives off that sweet (but not overly sweet), nutty and warm caramel-y taste. Think of this taste like a maple and pecan plait but wayyyyy more elevated and refined in flavour 🤤🤌🏻. A small amount of the frangipane has been smothered on top of the croissant to hold some roasted crushed pecans before being baked again to offer a contrast in texture and also enhance the nuttiness in this bake ✨.

If you have a sweet tooth and enjoy nutty bakes, then I highly recommend you give this one a try with an unsweetened coffee/tea, it definitely makes a nice change to the classic almond croissant.

I don’t think a simple thank you will ever be enough for what Saturday night meant to me.

Over the last 24 hours, I’ve been trying to process everything that happened this weekend, taking it all in and giving myself a little grace to rest (because I am absolutely shattered! 😂). But honestly, my heart is FULL.

Behind the scenes, so many people showed up for me, offered their time, kindness and support, simply because they wanted to see me do well. To everyone who helped make Saturday happen, bought a ticket, shared a post, sent a message, offered encouragement or continues to follow my journey ❤️ I see you, I appreciate you, and I thank you. 🤎

Who would have thought, when I hosted my first supper club two years ago, that we’d be here today, with people asking what’s next and wanting to be part of the journey? 🥹

I’m working on creating something that feels authentically ME! An intimate experience where food, heritage, storytelling and community come together. Because for me, it’s never just about the food. It’s about the connections we make, the stories we share and the memories we create around the table.

As much as I want to dream, create and bring these ideas to life, none of it happens without YOU. Your engagement, your curiosity, your feedback and your willingness to show up mean more than you know.

It really does take a village, and I’m so grateful to have you as part of mine. ❤️

I hope you had an incredible time with me on Saturday, because sharing that experience with you was truly special.
