•BTS - “The Beanie”
*History of the beanie cap
*12th Century

The beanie is a soft cap that snugly fits the head and can be made from various materials like cotton knits viscose and synthetics. Originally known as the Monmouth Cap it was invented in 12th century Wales and later evolved into the Pom-Pom cap we know today. Introduced to the USA and Canada during colonization it was initially worn by men but eventually became popular among women with decorative designs like flowers and leaves.

The beanie was not only stylish but also practical for labor-intensive jobs gaining popularity among college students beat poets hippies and vagabonds up to the 1960s. Despite falling out of mainstream fashion the beanie remains important in alternative scenes and subcultures with various brands offering their own unique colorways and designs.
