Had a phenomenal day playing Old Mac with @loopsforetroops last week, the conditions were perfect. Thanks to my caddie @taylor_johnson_dfw for keeping me cool out there to shoot one of my best rounds of the season!

Tomorrow I leave for Bandon Dunes Golf Resort for the 3rd session of Loops Fore Troops caddy training. We have 5 eager veterans who are ready to gain the skills it takes to become a looper.

But today I take a break to remember and reflect on those who stood at the tip of the spear and didn’t make it back. Unfortunately for me the personal list is long. There are so many who made the ultimate sacrifice, so many mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons, and daughters. Today, LIKE EVERYDAY, I honor you and your sacrifice. It was my absolute pleasure to serve alongside many of you and you are NEVER FORGOTTEN.

While you’re grilling your dogs or lifting your glass to the heroes that went before us, take a second and check out the Loops Fore Troops website and consider making a donation so that we can continue to support our veterans that did make it home. All of us have our struggles and this fantastic program is one that helps us through our healing process. It has personally had a major impact on mine and helped me find a purpose as I continue to navigate life after service.

Talk About A Great Day At The Office! (Worth the read!)

Today I had the absolute pleasure of caddying for 2 amazing LPGA all-stars. It’s not every day you have a chance to be on the bag for a Hall of Famer and a Major Championship winner, but today was my day!

Betsy King @betsyking_hof (Red Shirt) is a 6-time Major Championship winner, ESPY award-winning Best Female Golfer (1994), World Golf Hall of Fame inductee, and an absolute joy to be around! Betsy slammed the trunk and rolled to the first tee like it’s the only way to play! Long off the tee and rolls the rock like the true champion she is! She might say she’s retired from the game, but let me tell you, she can still grind it out with the best of em!

WOW, right? Yeah, I was pretty honored to be there with her and just guiding her around the track. But it doesn’t end there…

Leta Lindley @letalindleygolf (White shirt), Legends of the LPGA Tour pro and the 2024 U.S. Senior Women’s Open CHAMPION! I am not sure how she qualifies for the Senior Tour, because I feel like she’s younger than me! 🤔😂 Leta played further back and absolutely killed it today! Oh, and it was her first time even seeing the North Course 🤯. So not only is she a threat on the golf course, but she’s also a teaching pro at Old Marsh, truly a professor of her craft. Oh, and her husband is her caddie on tour, and his name just happens to be Matt, so you know this had to be the way to go!

Everyday is a great day for me at work, but today was something special! Thankful to have this career after the Army, and even more thankful to have the opportunities to be around some of the best in the game! Who knows, maybe someone will need a fill-in Matt or be ready for 1 more dance; either way, ladies, I’ll happily answer the call! 🫡 #lpga #legendsofthelpga #halloffamer #usga

“A lot of us get into this line of work because we feel that’s who we are. But the reality is, it’s a jacket just like any other jacket you put on in a chapter of your life. You’re gonna take this jacket off, but for me when the jacket is off, who the fuck am I now……”

A quote from A Wave and War on Netflix. It’s worth a watch….

I still struggle with this 10 years after retiring. It’s real. We are approaching the birthday of the Marine Corps and Veterans Day. Stay strong brothers and sisters, you are important and loved…. 🦅🌎⚓️
EDIT- While I (we) appreciate you thanking us for our service, this is more than that. I want you to be aware of why we do what we do. Why we have serious OCD. Why when we see a brother or sister that a hug turns into 40 beers. Why we cry at everything, it’s because we held it together in the toughest of times and we just can’t cope anymore. Why things HAVE to be a certain way. Why!!!! I’m not saying that we’re superior, we’re just different. I do appreciate all of your support. Check out Loops Fore Troops if you want to support Veterans and help them find their path after service has ended. We appreciate you, that’s why we take the oath and swear to protect and defend you against all enemies, foreign and domestic…..

EVERYTHING HAS A PURPOSE!!!!!!
