"My Paloma Blake is a secret I will always keep safe, closest to my heart."

This entire book felt like I was reading a poetic love letter between Paloma and Bennett. Their romance was built on so much pain and hurt but also an immense amount of love. This was second chance romance done to perfection. Their story was so deeply consuming, and written with raw emotion that I felt everything these characters went through like I was there experiencing it. Paloma and Bennett were almost painful to witness and read about considering the fragility of their relationship, but in such an immersive way that every happy moment with them felt like the greatest reward.

Bennett is one of my favorite MMCs ever. Peyton has written him in the softest and most precious way, I need to protect him at all costs. His steadfast loyalty towards Paloma is what held me together on this heartbreaking journey of their emotional tug of war. His OCD rep, and panic attacks were represented so incredibly well, I was brought to tears so many times during the course of this book. As someone who deals with panic attacks often, I love seeing it being given this much attention with such care. Paloma, I saw myself in her in so many ways and all I wanted to do was give her a hug. She went through so much and yet she still has such a kind heart and is such a pillar of strength for everyone around her. The aftermath of her trauma and her journey to heal were so accurately shown. They both hold such a special place in my heart, and I will think about them for a long time to come.

The writing flowed like a tide. It was filled with subtle tension and felt like I was always balancing on the edge of something waiting to happen. The ebb and flow of the prose gave the story so much depth and just when it felt like it got too much, Peyton gave us some release which felt very well earned. This book felt like I was reading poetry, some quotes I genuinely wish to get tattooed on me because they've sunk themselves so deeply into my soul.

It’s been a week since Unbound came out and I’d still like to declare my love for Bennett and Paloma.

They are the sweetest, kindest souls out there and I just want to hug them close and protect them from the world. I’ve made my bestie read the series, and she’s been eagerly waiting for its release. Highly recommend turning your best friend into a reader btw. I’ve never felt so evil and cackled so hard.🤣

I could write immensely long love letters to both Paloma and Bennett, (though I’ll most likely not be as eloquent as Bennett’s prose). Reading this book was like someone taking the innermost parts of me and baring them out into the open. I felt emptier the more I learned of their past. I felt lighter (but also heavy at the same time?) because, surely, there couldn’t be more to come? I was proven wrong, and parts I didn’t even know could feel pain were aching. Thank you @peytoncorinneauthor peytoncorinneauthor for writing stories that don’t shy away from heartache. From the stuff that hurts. Because so many people, including myself, have felt seen and loved in them.

Ps. The painting on the puzzle in the background was from last year when I went into the craft store looking for something to try my acrylic markers on. I don’t know what kind of twist of fate this was, but fast forward to today, after I’ve met the whole WaterFell U gang, it’s gained a new meaning to me. Me reading this beautiful series was meant to be.

There aren’t enough stars to give...

I went into this already knowing I would love it, because if Stephanie writes it, I always will, but it was just ten times better than my expectations.

Every single aspect was crafted and written with care. The banter, the slow burn, the self-doubt and sad moments, the honest and brave points…everything brought me to tears. I don’t really cry with books, but Nathan and Logan got me.

Nathan was just so good. He was a good man to his core; he didn’t want to disappoint his father, but was drowning in his feelings, his confusion, and doubt were heartbreaking. Seeing the way he changed, the way he grew into his confidence, and the love he didn’t realize was there. I loved him the second I met him, and I will love him forever.

And my boy Logan, chaotic perfection. His happy-go-lucky charm and flirty teasing…he was hiding so much, I knew he would become my favorite person, but he broke a piece of my heart to keep. He deserved the light, the praise, to be loved out loud because he wasn’t too much, or wrong or anything but him, and he was incredible.

I’m getting emotional writing this because they were just that good. Stephanie, you never fail to amaze me, but this book will live in a corner of my heart forever.
