2027 FACULTY

Warmly welcoming our 2027 Faculty!

Carefully curated for their individual artistry, expertise and experience, our 2027 faculty brings together an exceptional group of artists whose practices span the local, national and international dance and performance sectors.

Together, they bring a diverse range of disciplines and perspectives to the studio, spanning contemporary, street dance, physical theatre, ballet, improvisation, and mental and physical conditioning, alongside industry skills and professional pathway development.

AUSTI’s part-time development program gives emerging artists aged 17–25 access to professional training, creative development, performance opportunities and industry experience, right here in the Illawarra.

An ideal option for artists taking a gap year, transitioning from full-time training, or looking for a flexible pathway to continue developing their practice.

NGURRAGABU
[FROM THE LAST NIGHT / NEXT / TOMORROW]

Creative Development #3 in Rubibi (Broome), June 2026.

As Ngurragabu’s third creative development has come to a close, we leave Rubibi with full hearts and deep gratitude.

This past month, cast and creatives returned to the Kimberley for the third stage of this journey, strengthening connections between local knowledge and place, contemporary performance and future storytelling. Thank you to everyone who has shared their knowledge, generosity and care with us. These connections will continue to guide Ngurragabu as it grows.

Stay connected with us for more updates on Ngurragabu ✨

Gala Mabu (thank you) for having us on Yawuru Country.

Faraway 🖤
@jenlarge

So proud of this work and this process. To shine on this stage one last time, together with my loves at @ausdancetheatre , held and supported by an incredible crew — what a moment...

Faraway, you reminded me of the magic that exists within live performance.

Thankyou for the love @ausdancetheatre what a journey we’ve been on, I hold you with love as I say Nukutha

but most of all, thank you to pukiana for the rain, guiding my into this next chapter with a cleanse. Yarta always knows

Faraway is coming 🧚

From choreographer Jenni Large comes an uncompromising mythical vision where our ensemble move from human to creature and land somewhere in between. A thrilling exploration of power, tension ,and the fantastical.

Listening first. Moving second.
As the new year begins, Marrugeku continues the development of new work Ngurragabu, premiering later this year. Grounded in listening, guided by story and shaped through movement, the work emerges through time on Country and shared processes. This journey has begun - more to come as Ngurragabu takes form. 👣✨
