I was so excited to be at the Hingham Holiday Fair this year. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to and entrusted me with your annual ornament tradition. 🎄 A portion of the profits from today’s sales will be donated to the Hingham High Travel Scholarship, thanks to the generosity of the artists/ HPS Staff and students @0204three_buoys @hingham_pottery hinghamfacs @mals_woodwork @lorakelleylettering

DM the artists for custom orders and support small businesses this holiday season ❤️

Fun fact the tree featured here was the seating chart for our wedding, and doubles as favors. Guests take the leaves which have a magnet on the back, and on the front, their name and table number are hand lettered by me. Message me to rent this tree, and have your very own handcrafted, hand-lettered leaves for your event.

Hingham Public Schools students and staff handcrafted and sold artwork at the Hingham Arts Walk on October 19 to raise money for the Hingham High School Travel Fund. Last year the Travel Fund awarded $1800 to students in need of financial assistance related to domestic and international field trip expenses. Thanks to the community’s support, we will be able to offer aid again this school year.

We would not be able to do this without the generosity of our community and the talents of our teachers. Thank you to Ms. Rose Papuga, Mr. Rorie Malerbi, Ms. Kelly Achille, and Saachi Menon ‘26, for their time, energy, and invaluable donations of artwork to be sold solely for this fund. Thank you so much to the Hingham Business Association for having us as a part of this community event and to @whitneygordonsjewelers for allowing us to share your space. We look forward to next year!

ICYMI: You can find cutting boards, mugs, ornaments, tumblers, bookmarks and more at the Hingham Holiday Fair, at the Student Council Table.

The HHS Travel Fund Committee would also like to thank StuCo and the Spanish Club for promoting this fund at Homecoming and the upcoming Holiday Fair so we can support as many students as possible.

Applications will open in November for Hingham High students in grades 9-12 who are enrolled on a school-sponsored overnight field trip and are in need of financial assistance. Contact Lora Malerbi at lmalerbi@hinghamschools.org for more information about how to donate to the Travel Fund.

25 years ago, @provcollege took a chance and opened a two-year teacher preparation grad school program. You do not need to have been an education major during undergrad to participate, and the program is recognized for licensure in MA and RI and other reciprocal states.

How it works: Student cohorts live on the PC campus for two summers and do extensive training before teaching at a Catholic school in MA or RI for two full school years. You apply to participating Catholic schools, interview, pray you get hired, and are provided housing and an instant community of faith. While you work, you receive a stipend of your pay and the other half which goes toward your degree is automatically paid to PC, leaving you on graduation day without debt and a Masters Degree (mine in secondary education.

Since its inception in 2000, over 430 teachers have graduated and transformed thousands of students lives in over 70 Catholic schools. I am immensely proud to be a graduate of Providence College’s PACT 9 cohort, (enrolled in ‘09, Class of ‘11) and remain close with my “Pactinas” and first school community @jpiihyannis

Big thank you to Brother Pat Carey for creating this program, to my former principal and now PACT Director Chris Keavy @ckeavy31 for giving me my start, and to my @saintmichaelscollege advisor and Spanish Profesora, Carolyn Lukens-Olson, and Fr. Brian Cummings for introducing me to the program. I had no idea what I would do when I graduated college, but they pointed me in a direction that would change the trajectory of my entire life. Let’s keep this program going and I’ll see you at the PACT 2050 reunion. 🖤🤍
