A few days ago at the inaugural @futureforum.co , I had the privilege of moderating a moving 'in conversation' with Matt Pohlson, co-founder & CEO of Omaze. We explored one profound question: How differently would we build our companies, and our lives, if fear no longer made our decisions?

The truth is, we all have fear, and it’s normal. Hearing Matt share how his near-death experience fundamentally rewired his relationship with fear - both professionally and personally was incredibly powerful.

We talked about why we so often build businesses around the fear of failure. We discussed what it actually takes to build something that truly matters. But mostly, it was a masterclass in vulnerability. It was a beautiful reminder that behind every business and every success story are human beings navigating their own fragility and strength.

Thank you, @mattpohlson, for sharing your story, it's an important one.

My quiet takeaway from the conversation: A reminder to myself that I need to keep pushing my own fears to one side. It’s a blocker, and it so often stands in the way of a whole world of possibilities.

Huge shout out to @lordscheckner and the whole Future Forum team for creating such an important platform for discussion and community. Congrats. Can't wait for the next one!

This felt good. The chance to talk to a packed room @futureforum.co about why investing in productive assets like our ports, airports and roads creates growth and opportunity that will be taken to the next level if the #uk can rejoin the #eu single market.

Future Forum is exciting. It gives me a platform to talk about something I believe in: the power of trade to create prosperity. And I get to do that in front of an audience of thousands. What’s not to like about that?

If every morning could start like this.
Leaders in the room. Laughter in the air. Stories that make you lean in. That make-it-happen energy that you can’t manufacture… you just know it when you feel it.

My cup is full.
☕️
The Future Forum is doing something special. Putting a spotlight on this ickle island and honestly? What the UK has built and continues to build is genuinely astounding. The tech. The music. The fashion. The sport. The business minds that just refuse to think small.
In a world that feels heavy right now and the news is a lot, moments like this are medicine. They remind you what’s possible when brilliant people get in a room and decide to go for it.
Excited doesn’t even cover it. Proud to be in it. Proud to watch it unfold.
The future is being built. Right here. Right now.

The UK: where creativity and innovation collide...

From Ada Lovelace, the world’s first computer programmer…
to Alan Turing, who gave us the foundations of artificial intelligence…
to Sir Tim Berners-Lee, who built the internet itself…
and Jony Ive, the British designer behind the most iconic Apple products …
this small island continues to shape the future.

Our culture is a true melting pot of creativity. The same ground that produced Adele, McQueen, and Stormzy now drives breakthroughs in AI, immersive tech, and digital design. We have some of the best talent in the world @digilearninghq

Last week at the Future Forum launch at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, that creative spirit filled the room.
In partnership with the Department for Business and Trade, Meta Reality Labs, and an incredible mix of innovators, we celebrated the UK’s next great era of invention … where art, technology, and purpose intertwine.

The Future Forum will be a year-round platform culminating in a festival next autumn … spotlighting the brilliance that happens when industry, creativity, and inclusion unite.

From London to Scotland, Belfast to Manchester this is about building a future shaped by all of us.

Here’s to the next chapter of British creativity and to the people who make it real.
