We are incredibly proud to welcome Lord Karan Bilimoria CBE, DL, as a Patron of Future Leaders UK.

From founding Cobra Beer to serving in the House of Lords and leading across business and education, his journey reflects the ambition, resilience and opportunity we want young people to see for themselves.

We had the privilege of welcoming Lord Bilimoria to our Youth Summit, where he shared his story with almost 1,000 young people.

He joins our Patrons Lord Simon Woolley and the Rt Hon Wes Streeting MP, each representing what we believe at Future Leaders UK:

Your starting position should never determine your end position.

Representation matters. When young people see people from different backgrounds reaching the highest levels, they begin to see those spaces as places where they belong too.

Welcome to Future Leaders UK, Lord Bilimoria.

Five years ago this week, Lord Simon Woolley walked through our gates as Principal for the very first time. 🍂

His first decision? To spend his opening week with our gardeners, cooks and maintenance team. 🧹🌱

He put on overalls, scrubbed floors and served lunch to students. One student nudged a friend and whispered: "We're being served by a Lord!" 😄

Thank you, Simon, for five years of energy, insight, and a belief that academic excellence, inclusion, belonging, and a sense of purpose is key to raising rounded individuals. That's the Homerton Way. 🤝

Watch the video, then tell us in the comments: what's your Homerton moment from the past five years? 👇

The AI genie is out. But who will it serve? 🤖

AI is changing how we learn, work, communicate and make decisions. The bigger question is who gets to benefit from all of that change.

Join Lord Simon Woolley at Leicester for a conversation about AI, equality, democracy and the future of society.

“Everything has a beginning and everything has an end.” - Jason Arday

What haunting words to read at the end of Jason Arday’s ‘Great and Unfortunate Things’. Published just a week after his death, I picked this up at lunchtime and didn’t put it down until this evening. Knowing the circumstances surrounding his death, and the relentless hounding he faced from the right-wing media, made this an incredibly difficult read.

I met Jason fleetingly at his inaugural event in Cambridge whilst I was studying for my MPhil - what a gentle soul.

Now @lordsimonwoolley faces the same kind of vicious attacks for speaking out. The pattern is impossible to ignore.

I stand with Jason’s family, with Simon Woolley, and against a media culture that relentlessly tears down people who dare to challenge it.

LEAVE Lord Simon Woolley alone.

There are some people you meet in life who become far more than friends, colleagues or mentors. They become family.

Lord Woolley is one of those people for me.

I don’t just admire him for what he has achieved or the barriers he has broken. I love and adore him for the man he is — his kindness, his humanity, his wisdom and the way he has stood beside me personally through some of the hardest moments of my life.

When things were difficult, when I felt exhausted and at times alone in what I was facing, he was there. He listened. He encouraged me. He reminded me of who I was and why I should keep going. He didn’t need anything from me in return. He simply showed up.

That kind of support stays with you.

So when I see people debate his legacy or reduce a lifetime of service to one disagreement or one moment, I find it difficult to remain silent. You don’t have to agree with everything someone says to recognise the goodness in their heart or the contribution they have made.

I know this man personally. I know his heart.

And I will always be grateful that, at some of the lowest points in my life, he chose to stand with me.

Lord Woolley, thank you for believing in me, for supporting me, for challenging me, for encouraging me and, most importantly, for never making me feel that I was standing alone.

I love you, I adore you, and I will always stand with you just as you have stood with me.

Your legacy is not just what you have done in public life.

Your legacy is also the lives you have quietly changed along the way.

And I am proud to be one of them. ❤️🏾✊🏾

Some people enter your life and leave an impression. Others leave a legacy.

Lord Woolley is one of those remarkable people.

At Black Wall St. Media, we have been incredibly fortunate to know him, to learn from him, and above all, to experience his unwavering support. He has stood with us, encouraged us, challenged us and believed in what we are trying to build often when it would have been easier for others to simply stand back.

We love and adore this man, not because we agree with him on everything, but because we know his heart, his integrity and his commitment to public service. His life has been dedicated to breaking barriers, creating opportunities and ensuring that voices too often ignored are heard.

For us, his support means more than words can express.

Thank you, Lord Woolley, for standing with us. We stand with you. ❤️🏾✊🏾

Your service matters.
Your courage matters.
Your legacy matters.

With love, respect and gratitude — Black Wall St. Media.

Reflection on Lord Simon Woolley and giving him
His props as he is still a great mentor and support in all aspects of my media and political work in the UK .

Simon is just a phone call away as well. Question how we as a community can really support us!

@lordsimonwoolley We have your back sir. They will not get close to you. They’ll have to go through us.

@spectator1828 you should be ashamed of the specious nonsense in this pathetic ‘journalism’. Something tells me you are not - you’ve got previous. Expect a response.

An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us. I have known @lordsimonwoolley a long long time and we have worked together on many campaigns for justice, equality and in solidarity in that time. Simon has a right to speak out, express grief and show solidarity and love for Professor Jason Arday without attacks fuelled by racism on his integrity, abilities and achievements or his fitness for office as Principal of Homerton College, Cambridge University.

We need to stand together and stand with Simon.

Full solidarity Simon from me and from @baracukoriginal . 🙏🏾 #IStandWithLordSimonWoolley ✊🏽
