Burning Man doesn’t give you what you want. It gives you what you need.

I come for the adventure, the music, the art, and the madness. I always leave with something much harder to explain.

A place where strangers become family. Where people give without expecting anything in return. Where community suddenly means something completely different than what you are used to.

Burning Man isn’t just beautiful. It’s intense. 8 days in Black Rock City is not for the weak.

This year at times the weather felt relentless. The wind. The dust storms. The rain. The afternoon heat and the freezing nights.

You’re exhausted, covered in dust, uncomfortable, and your emotions have you wondering how much more you have in you.

But that’s also part of the lesson.

The playa has a way of reminding you that you can’t control everything. Sometimes you just have to accept the storm, keep moving through it, and trust that there’s something waiting on the other side.

And there always is.

The storm passes. The sun comes back. You find your people. You laugh about what you just went through. And somehow, you come out of it stronger than you were before.

It’s a lot like life. The moments that challenge us the most are often the ones that change us the most. You don’t always understand why you’re going through something while you’re in it. Sometimes you only understand once you’ve made it through.

Burning Man strips away a lot of what normally feels important.

It humbles you.

And somewhere between the chaos, the heavy storms, the beautiful sunrises, the amazing music, and deep conversations with people I may never see again, I learn a little more about myself every time I return.

Maybe that’s why I keep coming back.

You don’t really understand Burning Man by watching it.

You have to live it.
