'Parallel' - dir @_rosannalee

We shot this so, so long ago, back in April 2021, one of the first few videos that I'd ever produced.

This was a special one to be a part of for many reasons, one being that most of the crew could relate to the story of navigating two heritages/cultures in some way or another which resulted in a lot of love being poured in to the project from start to finish.

Big love to the loveliest @_rosannalee who did such a beautiful job encapsulating the nuances of trying to understand your identity in what can sometimes feel like a limbo between both worlds. Shout out to all of the communities, especially the Chinese community in Southend, who really helped make this short happen and continue to show their support.

Parallel currently isn't on any online platforms yet but you can currently go view it at the British Library Exhibition 'Chinese and British'.

It's over.

The crowdfunding is complete!

Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed. Because of you, we managed to raise £2735 from 50 backers. I'm incredibly blown away by all of your support. To those who reached out with such praise. To those I've not spoken to in years that I've reconnected through because of this. Thank you all.

The socials will be a bit quiet for a while whilst I focus on completing various bits and pieces to ensure the project is out as scheduled. Time to rest momentarily before Post Production continues in November!

Hey everyone! Bakemono is finally up for crowdfunding.

This project means EVERYTHING to me. It's super personal, explores a damaging relationship and primarily, it's about love.

I've been working on this for the last few years now. There's a stellar cast attached and some phenomenal crew. We shot on 16mm film (the same camera they used on projects such as 'The Walking Dead', 'Carol', 'Black Swan' & 'Mid90s' the latter directed by Jonah Hill).

Times are pretty crap now financially, so I understand if everyone can't donate, but any shares on the socials is also greatly appreciated (my film page is @lovecabinfilms on every social).
