My beautiful mentor and friend @lorettachin is getting the recognition she deserves. Thank you to @caftcad @caftcadawards for honouring her. She has taught so many stylists who are prominently working in the industry today, me being one of the byproducts of her teachings. I’m so happy to see this. I think of Lo frequently and last week when I was at a costume rental house I felt like I really felt her presence or something like as if she was trying to say “hi”.

Loretta lit up every room she entered. She was the party. Toronto will never be the same without her sparkle and generosity of spirit. A day seeing Loretta was a day made greater.

I hope she’s having the time of her afterlife with an endless closet and limitless champagne. Forever stylish, forever loved, and forever in our hearts.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Loretta Chin.

Loretta held many roles in our community, serving previously as both President and Vice-President of CAFTCAD. She continued after her terms to be the leading force of BeSpoke Magazine, working as its Editor-in-Chief. BeSpoke would not be what it is today without Loretta’s guidance.

Loretta was a true force, acting as an accomplished buyer, designer, and writer. She injected so much love and life into all her work. We mourn the loss of an incredible friend and member of our community. Her absence will be profoundly felt.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Loretta’s family and to all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

what an honour of a lifetime it is to have had a love like this; one of the greatest loves of my life. i’ll love you forever, i’ll like you for always, as long as i’m living, your memory i’ll keep. RIP to my bestest baby girl.
