You can find pristine typewriter tables on Etsy for $150 and up. I found this in a metal salvage yard fir under $20, so I get the joy of making it into my perfect typewriter/side table. It will be black, but I can't decide on Mat or gloss. Stay tuned. #diy #typewritertable #vintageupcycle #upcycle #writerslife #writerstools #nookdesign

After grief, new beginnings, big transitions, I finally feel stirrings of story (I've written a new chapbook and published an old one in the last three years, but fiction has been elusive.) I have this little nook that had become an unsightly storage area. @maybeenow has helped me see it in a new way. I'm looking forward to telling some stories here. Stay tuned. @lorigravley #littlespaces #designinglittlespaces #nookdesign #worksinprogress

Three arrows pointing different directions is no help at all. The good news, each of them directed me to the same place, right where I needed to be. #whichwaydoigo #whatsnext #rightplacerighttime

This dimensional face of wood, metal, and paint was at the World Bank, Ghana. It's taller than I am, and it was hard to tell it was a face until I took a picture. Carved into the panels are a number of adinkra, Ghanian symbols that stand for important concepts in Ghanian culture. Human creativity amazes me. #accraghana #worldbankartprogram #worktravellife #celebratemakers #adinkra #adinkrasymbols

There were so many amazing London murals. I'll share them later, but right now I'm thinking of this wall. It's directly opposite the Thames from the London Parliament and the hearts memorialize the over 400,000 people in the UK who lost their lives to Covid. #neverforget #memorials #pandemicmemorials #londonmemorials #londonriverbank

I just want you to know that this sign is for sale in Tucson. Open your mouth for tacos, you betcha. As kitsch as it is, I did not check the price. #vintagetucson #vintageamericana #vintageamerica #getinmybelly #openmouthinserttacos

When I was a girl, my dad's house had a bed, a family heirloom from Gaga, that had angels carved into the headboard. I'd never seen another one until now. Thanks @tampro1023 for being the best shopping buddy. #bedswithangels #angelbed #carvedangels #sleepingwithangels

L'il P is now in his sixth country (France, Pakistan, England, Ghana, US, Honduras). He's one well-traveled penguin. How many countries have you been to? He misses his little penguin family and our tribe at home, but he likes flying, a lot. This travel tradition started on my first trip away from Boris. Boris found a giant stuffed penguin at a yard sale and we started a joke about Mr. P. He became a sort of mascot for us. Then, a Rice Krispy treat from a hike we did became a silly little photo bomber as I hiked alone in Joshua Tree. I started sending silly photos of Mr. Krispy back to Boris, and it helped me feel connected and helped us have fun even from a distance. The wrapper ripped and Li'l P came into our lives. I wish I'd had an iPhone when my kids were small as this would have been a lovely way to stay travel connected (and a little easier than handwriting notes for every day I was gone ;-). #penguinsthatfly #lilptravels #penguinswhotravel #sillyyetserious #insecureattachmentbuddy #takeyourbeaniebabieswithyou #worktravellife
