Gosh I’m lucky…I have two of the most beautiful people in the world in my life.

My mom @lorivaadeland received her second Aquatennial Honorary Commodores Award tonight. Her dedication and commitment to our small town is superb, and to think I have to fill those shoes is terrifying. Congratulations Mom! 🏅🇺🇸

And to @sydney_dahl23 for having the most beautiful soul, for always being the best fan and for making me a proud momma!

Love you both so much! ♥️

One thing I love to do is write. I’ve always loved to write.

However, these last two months have me stumped. Call it writers block, but the thoughts just aren’t coming onto paper like they should. I don’t know how to write what I’m thinking, nothing I say feels right, and it certainly doesn’t begin to explain what I’m trying to express. The emptiness, the broken heart.

Losing Jimmy is far more difficult than I think we ever imagined it would be. Not because we didn’t love him enough, not because we didn’t appreciate him enough - but because the loss of the “rock” has been by far the greatest loss we have experienced as a family. He was, “the one.” The one who gave us the freedom to be who we are, to accept us as we are, to find triumphs in our faults and to give us hope in time of error. He was “the one” - our constant, our forever bond.

I miss his hands, and those finger tips running over the face of his watch. The nods of agreement. The peace. If tears could fill a lake, it would be overflowing.

Today marks an incredible day for many. A day we celebrate and show tribute to the people who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom 🇺🇸. Today I realized as we celebrated in grandpas back yard that his service to our country and our family never hindered from extraordinary measures - these are beyond bountiful blessings, and I thank God for sharing Jimmy with us.

Today I celebrate you Papa Jimmy. Because we knew you, we are better people. Loving you endlessly and missing you terribly - you have our whole hearts! All of us! xo ❤️

Our Papa Jimmy turned 89 years young today, and it is such a blessing for our family.

This man is not ordinary...he’s extraordinary.

One month ago Jimmy fell in his garage and broke his hip. 😢 As many of you know, that is a recipe for disaster, and we were all on bended knee 🙏🏻. Who has had quadruple bypass surgery, developed diabetes at an older age and suffered skin cancer? Did I mention that he is still the local barber in town? It’s miraculous.

The strongest man I know, the rock to the “Brown” family and the constant we all depend on.

Thank you Lord 🙏🏻 for letting us celebrate his life today, our family is so blessed.

Cheers to many more birthdays Jimmy, we love ❤️ you so much! You’re our favorite!
