The High Museum of Art is celebrating its centennial with more than 200 new acquisitions, expanded community-focused programming and a block party that will take over Peachtree Street.

Museum leaders say the goal is simple: make sure every visitor feels represented and welcomed when they walk through the doors.

The High says membership has grown by 50% over the last decade as it continues working to become "the museum Atlanta deserves."

Sometimes I don't even feel like this was me...but to be diagnosed with breast cancer while being pregnant was one of the hardest challenges of my life however, God saved me and he allowed me to rise and keep dancing.

Mannn, Stockbridge… we were so happy. Y’all had us thinking ya wall being forward & innovative by electing a young mayor, making Black history, and doing something new — a breath of fresh air.

Instead, y’all have tarnished it.

And honestly, all the Black men leading this impeachment train should be ashamed of yourselves.

1. What y’all are accusing him of appears minor compared to the extreme way y’all are reacting.

2. Instead of rushing to get him out, y’all should’ve been mentoring him, coaching him, and helping guide him in the right direction.

This was an opportunity to cultivate greatness. To show the youth — the same ones y’all call “YNs” — that there are other options. That being young doesn’t mean you can’t lead, make history, and sit at the table.

Instead, y’all look reactive. Jealous. Angry that somebody so young won and accomplished something many people never get the opportunity to do.

This is a disturbing display of ego, insecurity, and failed leadership.

Y’all had an opportunity to build up a young Black leader and help him become greater. Instead, y’all chose to publicly tear him down.

That’s the real disappointment here.
