🌿3 reasons to clean houseplant leaves (and skip the toxic chemicals when you do)

Beside the self care bonus of slowing down to enjoy the simple ritual of leaf cleaning and the reward of a glowing leaf, spraying your plants is a way to protect your houseplants from pests and pathogens while checking for overall plant health.

💧Foliar feeding
Giving your plants a Sacred Leaf shower treats them to beneficial nutrients. While the vast majority of nutrients (80-90%) are taken up through the tips of the roots, foliar feeding is an effective method of treating nutrient deficiencies while boosting plant growth, especially during times of stress (pest infestations, disease, transplanting or moving).

🍃Leaf Anatomy

Stomata are tiny openings (like the pores on our own skin) composed of living cells. They’re located on the epidermis of leaves, generally the bottom side of the leaf which protects them from extreme heat (sun) or from extreme airflow (wind). These openings are surrounded by guard cells which contain chloroplasts that are responsible for photosynthesis, the life giving energy of the plant. A vital function! These guard cells are also responsible for opening and closing the stoma, an important role for regulating hydration and gas exchange.

The leaf cuticle is the outermost layer of a leaf and a pathway of micro pores where most nutrient intake occurs, previously thought to be the function of the stoma.

☠️ Skip the toxic leaf shine or chemical pest care!
Why spray something you need to wear a mask while applying when you can use our natural, effective, non toxic, pet and pollinator friendly solution instead? Plus it smells amazing and you can even spray it on yourself!

Mix up a batch for 5 cents per 16 ounce application! No plastic bottle to toss in the bin (and no big box store to profit) what’s not to love?

🌱Did you know our tonics are shelf stable for up to
four years? Once you mix a batch you can keep it in a cool dark place for 7-10 days before swapping out for a new batch.

💦 A gentle reminder to clean your spray bottle regularly as our tonics are preservative free!

Plant parents and urban garden friends, here’s another helpful way to build plant resistance and growth!

Equisetum, also known as Horsetail, is a multifunctional, nutrient-accumulating “living fossil” that supports overall plant health and strong growth while offering natural protection against fungal diseases and pests. That’s why it’s a key ingredient in our plant care tonics!

Highly rich in organic silica, horsetail has the unique ability to strengthen a plant’s cellular wall—leading to stronger growth with sturdier stems and thicker leaves.

Horsetail is also an antimicrobial which naturally fights off harmful diseases and infections. This incredible herb has been shown to build resistance against common fungal issues like powdery mildew and black spot, two fungal diseases commonly found in the garden on roses and squash plants and also on houseplants like begonias.

For more #plantcare tips and to grab a bottle of our organic and concentrated plant and pest care tonics, you know where to find us!

🪴✨ Not all nests belong in trees… some belong on your shelf. Meet the Bird’s Nest Fern — lush, sculptural, and surprisingly low-maintenance.

This tropical beauty doesn’t just look calming, it feels like a deep breath for your space 🌿

🌱 CARE MADE SIMPLE:
☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light keeps it happy. No harsh sun, please!
💧 Water: Likes consistency — keep the soil slightly damp, but never soggy.
🌬️ Humidity: Loves a steamy bathroom or a light misting sesh.
⚠️ Avoid watering the nest (center) — it’s called “rot” protection.

Perfect for plant parents who want a fern without fuss. Your shelf’s new statement piece is ready to nest. 🪹

Found this thrifted bowl and couldn’t not turn it into a little propagation station. ✨ It’s giving antique elegance with a side of root magic—and now it’s one of my favorite plant displays.

Shoutout to @lorrileezander for the inspo—loved how you styled your glass dish! I spotted this vintage find and knew it needed a planty upgrade.
