Another beautiful ride done n dusted, only to be kept as a memory.

We went through the South Aussie outback and into NSW for a homestead stay at Kulcurna Station.

There was 27 riders + the vehicle support crew (31). I had the role of a sweep rider which is the last rider who picks everyone up from corners as the group can spread out quite a bit.

Terrain varied greatly, but it was mostly long, dirt roads with stretches of sand, uneven rocky terrain, 4WD tracks and some bitumen to carry us in between towns and onto another dirt road.

Lots of adrenaline, fun, some near misses (as always), and just a good f*cking time 😎

Every time I go on these rides, I seriously forget the world, and it's one of the only times I don't stress about what I'm doing in life. Also, the views 🤯. It really makes you appreciate life even more. Nature is truly so magical ✨️

I feel like flying at high speeds on dirt roads, with Roos and Emus jumping out at you at the most randomly times, really keeps you sharp and focused on the road ahead, hard to think of anything else at that time tbh 😆

These rides are looooong but so much enjoyment every time!

800kms over 2 days.
30 riders.

We ride on both bitumen and dirt roads, with a mix of sand, and off-road/4WD tracks in between.

Lots of different terrains over the weekend, and so much dust for the group!

I did get an opportunity to be a sweep rider for 30 riders which was so awesome AND borrowed a different bike for the weekend!
I loved being last rider and picking them up off corners 🫡

It wasn't all work though, I was let off the hook half way through Day 1 and got a chance to ride through the pack and also had my fair share of dust 👀.

Overall awesome weekend away, and also my favourite because those 2 days are an awesome way to detox from electronics and just enjoy the ride 💫🏍.

A random hill that we decided to have a bit of fun on, somewhere in the Barossa, SA.

If you're scoring outta 10, how easy did it look for you? Comment below!

Here are 3 things that always happen when I'm on a trail

1. Always get surprised as to how many km's were ridden
2. Talk to myself every chance I get
3. Have the best time ever and want to continue on but don't

Why?

1. Because time flies and what feels like a few minutes on the trail is actually 15.
2. This keeps me on my toes, entertained and in the headspace. It also releases stress and gets me through the hard parts.
3. I always want to continue but then get off the trail and realise how mentally drained I am and that I should probably take a break so as to not slip up and face the consequences of distraction.

Which one of these is the same for you?

I must admit it's a little dramatic, so if that's not your scene, just keep scrollin' 😎

Here you see some raw footage of a little birdie learning to fly. Kidding, that's not it. It's me being scared af of a teeny tiny hill but doing it anyway.

It's all a mental game, that is all it is. You're capable, just let yourself BE capable by overcoming one fear one step at a time.

This is a shoutout post to Steve for being a fkn legend and Nick for not much really 😂

But seriously, good to have finally found people who ride both mountain bikes AND dirt bikes and are always up for a personal challenge and an adventure!

Good thing about riding dirt bikes and downhill riding is that the two compliment each other. MTB teaches you endurance, technique and balance without an engine and dirt bikes take you to further places at a faster speed whilst still enabling you to navigate tracks where you need the balance, technique, body strength and endurance.

Also, MTB is the thing you do when it's too hot to put on 100 different layers.
