One of the biggest misconceptions about documentary photography is that it means I’m just going to stand there and hope something cute happens

I’m still paying attention to the light, where we are, how you’re standing, what your hands are doing, what’s happening in the background and any other things that can turn a normal moment into a really good photo.

I’ll move you, prompt you, fix something when it needs fixing and then give you enough space to actually interact with each other.

Theres intention behind the photos without making every second of your session feel like a photoshoot.

You get to hang out with your person. I get to document it ♥️

There’s just something about elopements that I will always love. They’re fun, and they’re intimate, plus soo full of emotion and nerves. there’s so much more room to just be together and actually take in the fact that you just got married!!

it isn’t a huge production, there’s no feeling like you have to be anywhere other than exactly where you are. Just you, your person, a few of your favorite people (or no one at all), plus an entire city to run around in afterward.

And getting to document all of those little in between moments while Manhattan is just Manhattan around you?? Forever one of my favorite things. 🫶

Your wedding day really doesn’t have to be big, it doesn’t have to be what anyone else wants it to be. Sometimes it can just be getting married to your best friend and having a really freaking good day together ♥️
