PERRIS CITY COUNCIL MEETING TO END OR CONTINUE FLOCK CONTRACT ‼️‼️‼️
🗓NOVEMBER 10TH, 6:30
🏫CITY HALL 101 N. D. ST.

The problematic and untrustworthy Flock license plate readers(LPRs)are still operational in Perris- despite the contract with the city having expired MONTHS ago in June!

Flock replaced another mass surveillance system called Vanguard with a contract that began May 2024. This included 99 ‘falcon’ spy camera hardware and 158 ‘wing’ software installations (at city parks!).

Look, there’s countless news articles recounting how a wrong flock has been and how the pursuit of faulty AI generated leads can ruin lives. There’s even more stories and statistics of the unreliability and abuses of the Riverside Sheriff Dept, who has unfettered access to our city and city park cameras!
‼️ Most recently its been exposed that flock works with ICE/DHS in the abduction of our neighbors. Perris is a very vulnerable area, and inaction on the contract is dangerous to our residents!‼️

WE NEED YOU TO SHOW UP, CALL IN, OR SEND AN EMAIL DEMANDING THE CANCELATION OF ALL FLOCK DEVICES AND APPLICATIONS... AND NO VANGUARD/AXION REPLACEMENT!!!!!!!

Nov 10, City Hall, 6:30pm!!!!!

There are two councilmembers who have clear connections to the police: mayor Vargas (ex cop) and David Star Rabb (district attorney and landlord) who is running for re-election! You can email them to say why flock is HARMFUL. If you can't make it to the council meeting , you can always call in on ZOOM or send an email to the clerk:

mayor@cityofperris.org
Dsrabb@cityofperris.org
CityClerk@cityofperris.org

Residents in over 100 other cities have pressured their councils to reject flock and big brother camera systems. Together, WE CAN DO THIS. Together, WE RISE! #deflockperris #flockout

Today we will be getting together to make signs against data centers and warehouses. We will then take these to the Perris City Council meeting, in which we will be supporting a citywide data center ban and an extension on the warehouse moratorium.

Create your own personalized message to voice your concerns as well as those of your community.
These signs will be seen from across the room so make your voice heard!

Supplies will be provided, but are limited.
Please bring your own if you can :)

Today, Tue Oct 13, 6:30 pm: Perris votes on a citywide data center ban. Come to 101 North D Street or join by Zoom. Full Video and Meeting details and how to speak: tap @SaveLakePerris, then the link in the bio.

At the Planning Commission, one question was whether a small data center should get a pass. The room answered first. Then a commissioner explained why size shouldn’t be the line.

Support the ban as written, with no loopholes for any name or any size.

The ban can’t reach the fairgrounds, which is state land. Email the fair board by Wed, Oct 14. It takes about two minutes, same link in bio.

Full video: link in bio.

Today I’m sharing some reposts I love that honor our people and the land.

It is always our people. It is always the land. It is always Pachamama.

We all belong to her. We are all part of the earth.

Share with your loved ones so we can be vision keepers of the new earth we are building together. This is how the prayer travels. 🌱

Follow @xochitlashe and join my mailing list at the link in my bio so we stay connected, no matter what the algorithm decides. 💌

With National Indigenous Peoples day around the corner I wanted to say this 2 parter I made back when you could only share 60 seconds at a time. I hated making it a 2 parter. So here is it in full. And why we will never acknowledge that monster and only pay respect to those who came before us on these lands.
Remember to always question and seek answers

We know you’re watching us ICE. We saw you hiding behind trees with your camera and notebook.

We still stand with our relatives who you think you have the right to detain.

We will keep fighting for justice!!

This is our land and we are still here.
