With a mission to tick off as many countries as possible and childhood memories of my grandfather talking about his holidays there, Malta has been on my list for a while!
•
A post race, retirement transition seemed like the perfect opportunity for a mini break here, and without anyone to go with, I embarked on my first proper solo holiday!

If you’re happy driving on the left then rent a car but be prepared for the traffic; island life is slow, embrace it.

A Pastizzi is a must try! I’m not a big fan of pastries but I really enjoyed these!

Definitely visit Gozo but when Google maps and the road signs are pointing in different directions, trust the road signs 😂

If you don’t have anyone to go with, don’t wait, just go alone! Take the selfie, explore of your own schedule, reserve a table for 1 and take yourself out to dinner!

It can be daunting and the world is built for people in pairs, but it gets easier (even in a few hours!), you feel more comfortable, you move from being ‘ok’ with it to actually enjoying it, and the ‘are you waiting for someone’ question slowly feels less like an accusation 😂

Kilka polecajek z Malty - naprawdę warto zapamiętać 🙌🏻😉

@lot61mt - znakomita kawa zarówno mrożona jak i na ciepło. Ogromny plus za klimat i obsługę - 11/10 ✨❤️

Najlepsze risotto z owocami morza jakie przyszło mi jeść. Cudowny balans smaków 🤤
W tle królik po Maltańsku - również wyborny, podany na aksamitnym pure - 10/10 🙌🏻

@punto_bar_and_dine - świetny klimat, obsługa (zwłaszcza kelner Rajesh) 😉

Makaron z owocami morza w Opa! Mediterranean Fusion to strzał w 10! Pyszny mocno pomidorowy wywar z nutką chili i świeże owoce morza - czegóż chcieć więcej? 🤭
Obsługa dość chaotyczna ale ma to swój niepowtarzalny klimat ☺️

Kolejna restauracja godna polecenia czyli @tiffanysbistro i przeogromne porcje za którymi nie idzie tylko ilość ale również jakość. Kurczak w sosie grzybowym jak i stek wieprzowy były wyśmienite. Dodatki dopełniły smak w 100%. Naprawdę warto odwiedzić te miejsce ale z pustym brzuchem 🤭 - 10/10 🙌🏻

Kolejna restauracja godna polecenia czyli @tiffanysbistro i przeogromne porcje za którymi nie idzie tylko ilość ale również jakość. I na końcu tzw. wisienka na torcie czyli pierś z kurczaka z blanszowanymi warzywami na pure z batata z @lous.bistro 🤤❤️
Jest to odkrycie tego wyjazdu i niezaprzeczalny faworyt - obsługa, jakość, cena i smak - tu wszystko się zgadza i idealnie ze sobą współgra 🤌🏻
Tutaj nie da się określić skali, to po prostu trzeba spróbować 😍

If you’re planning a trip to Malta, save this coffee stop for Valletta.

The latest stop in my silly little drinks series was Lot 61 Coffee Roasters on Old Theatre Street. I tried both the strawberry and mango matcha on two separate occasions, and while the mango was really good, I immediately went back to the strawberry. 😂 I also grabbed a lemon loaf, which was the perfect little something sweet with my drink.

Lot 61 is a Malta-based specialty coffee roaster, so there’s plenty here beyond my very serious strawberry silly little drink agenda. They roast their own coffee and have a full specialty coffee menu, with another location at Spinola Park in St. Julian’s if you’re staying in that area.

This is exactly why I love finding little cafés when I travel. A silly little drink, something sweet, a pretty street to wander down, and suddenly a random Tuesday in Malta becomes a moment to remember. 🍓🍵
