Training, training, training! I still have so much to learn but this workshop with @barbara_niles at @realvoicela on voiceovers for conversational commercials was SO worth the time and money! It was so fun to learn from all the other great talent in the class too! Here’s to booking more conversational commercials! 🙌

We are not equal until we are all equal. It felt good to get out and see so many people fighting together to demand change. It's not enough to just agree with something and stay silent. Take action! If you're not sure what to do, there are so many resources out there right now of places who need donations, petitions you can sign, officials and politicians you can call and places you can protest. Such a powerful day. I highly encourage all my white friends to make your voice heard. Be the change you want to see in the world. #blacklivesmatter #blm #nojusticenopeace #bethechange

Meet Arisha Mays - Arisha Maya is a Spelman College rising junior, pre-med biology major from Chicago, Illinois. Growing up in a low-income, single parent home, she had first hand experience of what it means to go without and to be financially disadvantaged. As a result, she knew she wanted to help make a change for others who also struggled in her position. In 2016, in addition to Chicago’s outstanding rate of poverty and homelessness, she and her father began formulate a plan to help low-income single parents, and homeless veterans. The two then founded the nonprofit organization, The Lotus Foundation of Illinois. Along with current volunteers, Arisha and her father create care packages that are distributed to the homeless around Chicago and other adjacent cities. They also hold their annual book bag drive which has been able to send more than 100 elementary and middle school students to school with supplies and a brand new book bag, alleviating the financial stress of low-income parents. Currently, as the organization’s co-founder, Arisha is planning to bring the Lotus Foundation to Spelman in order to help combat the rising rate of homelessness in Atlanta, Georgia. She will be organizing care package distributions around Atlanta and invites you to join her or even donate to the cause! @ari.mays - #SKIRTSButterflyEffect
