Can’t believe I’ve held back posting this moment of joy.

Funny thing happened at the @lizzobeeating show…
@ingridkuwnz of @keepingupwithnz and @whatthecfpod (plus inspirational Māmā) and I decided to go closer for a better look.

Weaving through the crowd to the front, I heard my name…miraculous considering the noise and energy inside Spark Arena. I turned to see dear, wonderful @jessmolina of well, Jess Molina and @loudlyquietly - working away at the show capturing content and making notes, visibly happy in the crowd and swell of music.

We squealed! We hugged, we exclaimed about how much fun we all were having, we snapped a pic and then we were off and then Jess was back at it, hard at work.

Two exceptional women who’ve been there for me a lot and guided me over my time of growth and discovery these three years passed. These two wāhine toa are so consistent in their efforts, their creation, their example. I hope to be just like them when I grow up 🌱

“Your tree looks like the Christmas tree from a posh English department store. Like the ones I see at Harrods” — my friend sent this to me the other day after I sent them a picture of my tree. It’s got that old toy shop vibe which I love!

Turns out there’s a proper to way to fluff your tree and string your lights. Life skills I didn’t have… until now.

So here’s the ultimate guide to decorating your Christmas tree complete with a step by step guide on putting up string lights to links to where I got my ornaments from (the theme of my DMs last week) and other handy tips!

Tis the season etc etc but this also marks the return of @loudlyquietly but more on that soon. Link in my bio 🎄❤️✨

When we asked @jessmolina what humanity meant to her, she said…

“Standing with humanity to me means showing up every day, imperfectly, trying to do better, trying to learn more, listening, and believing that we can have a better world.”

Jess is an activist, Intersectional storyteller, the founder of @loudlyquietly and also works with @theperiodplace, to list just a few of the things that keep her busy at the moment.

👉Swipe to read some of her other musings on the values she keeps close & what we can do as a community to make the world a better place.

We’re so grateful to have her as part of our movement standing with humanity across Aotearoa & around the world ♥️

Want to find out more about human rights, what campaigns we’re currently working on and how you can join the movement too?

2021, we have big plans for you. We’ve been quiet on the ‘gram but we’ve been putting all our thoughts into paper, relaxing, reflecting, and spending time with our loved ones — much needed after this year! See you on the other side. Take care and stay safe 🖤 (custom journals kindly gifted by @anorganisedlife)

Getting ready to level up in 2021. As we head into my favourite time of the year — or ‘fresh start szn’ as I like to call it — I find myself spending a lot of time in my own head, processing, reflecting, and trying to reconcile what the actual fuck 2020 was. Collectively it feels like we’ve been out through the wringer. Personally, I feel like this is the year of massive growth and clarity. Amidst the chaos and challenges and grief and sorrow were moments of transcendence, pure joy, and seeing a lot of my hard work start to pay off. Upon reflection, I kept going back to the same thoughts I had in 2019 when I first thought of @loudlyquietly as a name for a website I wanted to develop. In order for any change or progress to happen, we need to know when to be loud and when to be quiet. Both truths must coexist for balance. Knowing when to speak up and when to listen. A time for reflection and celebration. These two words have felt all the more profound this year 🖤

P.S. it feels silly that ASA guidelines say I need to tag this as an *ad* when the diaries were more of a celebratory present from my darling friend @beckwadworth because she knows I’ve been a fan of @anorganisedlife and have bought their beautiful journals for years. There’s no expectation to post but putting this in here just in case cos you never know with these ambiguous guidelines
