What do French coaches value beyond talent? 🇫🇷⚽️

@louruffien11 has represented France at the U-17 Euros and FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, developed with Paris FC, and is now playing for Harvard Women’s Soccer.

In Episode 37 of The Soccer Ladder, @liamlinke18 asks Lou what French coaches look for in young players — and how she handles the pressure that comes with competing at a high level.

Her answers: technique, quick decisions and grit — a word I absolutely love. Lou also shares how she works with a mental coach and uses visualization and self-talk to prepare for big matches. For those who have followed us for a while, you know how strongly I believe in the value of a mental coach for young players, so I especially loved hearing that.

Harvard women’s soccer (2-2-1) has typically overwhelmed its opponents on the stat sheet this season.

When the Crimson crossed the Charles River to face Boston University (2-4), it met a team that matched its offensive productivity, but still maintained its winning streak.

Growth rarely happens by accident.
Your environment influences your mindset, your habits, and your performance. Be intentional about who you surround yourself with. The work will show.
