Some recent photos I like. Bored at work, shitty weather, wishing I was at the swap with my friends 🙂

Anyone that’s traveled with me, knows that I bring way too many cameras, and camera gear. This year on the annual Lolo run, put on by @chop_merchandise was no different. Of course I have my digital gear so that I can get photos turned around quick, and online fast. But my real love is shooting film, primarily black-and-white. That’s how I learned as a kid in a dark room, and I still develop my own film at home, and love the whole process. It is kind of funny/silly going through the whole analog process of shooting, developing, and processing film. Just to scan it and put it online. But it’s that process that keeps me shooting it. I love having control over the exposure, the developing, and the final product. There’s something film gives, that digital never will. So here’s part one, of three sets of film. This set was shot on a Canon A2E, on Kodak TMAX400, developed in my kitchen and scanned at my dining room table.

White Bird Hill Summit is a major mountain pass on U.S. Highway 95 in north-central Idaho, reaching an elevation of 4,245 feet.

The view from White Bird Hill Summit is spectacular. It offers one of the most dramatic geographic transitions in the Pacific Northwest, where the high prairie abruptly collides with Idaho’s deep canyon.

The southbound descent features a sustained, steep grade averaging over 7%, which can heavily test truck brakes and cooling systems. Dropping 2,700 vertical feet in just 7 miles.

Anyways, ride down that mother

Another Lolo in the books!
13 years of dragging my buddy’s along with me on a bike trip every year.
So many good memories over the years.
This year was no exception.
Thanks for the good times boys!
