Honey girl got her first ever Spooky Basket today. I think she particularly liked the Michael Myers plushie. 🔪

What an absolute dream it is to be her mama & to make new traditions with her. My heart is both so full and so sad to think I only have about ~50 more spooky seasons left with her.

HAPPY SPOOKY SEASON MOTHERFUCKERS! 🎃🔪It’s truly THE most wonderful time of the year* & I am just jumping out of my skin in excitement to instill my love of all things spooky & Halloween into my little Honey bee. I’m talking full Halloween decorations, lots of Halloween movies & October baseball (sorry, not sorry!), spooky baskets, and spookier fits (multiple costumes), trick-or-treating and all the things. Her little middle finger. 🥹

*I am convinced I’d have far less mental health issues if it was October all year long but that’s neither here nor there! 🕸️

Honey requested a tropical vacation for her 6th month birthday. We obliged, obviously. To no one’s surprise, she’s an island girl! 🏝️

30, Flirty, & Goes to Bed Early ✨

While I can’t quite articulate why, I’ve wanted to be 30 for a very, very long time. For years I thought, perhaps in my 30s I’ll finally feel like a grown up or maybe I’ll finally know what I’m doing with my life. Well, it’s my 30th birthday. My perfect, gorgeous, scrumptious dumpling of a daughter woke me up every two hours and then threw up all over me (that’s okay, my shirt was already soaked in breastmilk!); I’m on the maximum dosage of my antidepressant allowed (that’s okay, taking care of your mental is sexy!); my tummy is squishy and my “laugh lines” are prominent (that’s okay, I’m still beautiful), and I don’t feel like a grown up (that’s okay, I no longer feel like I have to what I’m doing with my life!) I am just grateful for the privilege of waking up each day to the gummy smile of my daughter, the love of my husband, friends, and family, my willingness to surrender to the unknown and commitment to making the world a better place, and to my genuine desire to believe in and love myself to the max.

My goodness, I’m just so fucking excited to see what this next decade will bring.. 💫🎂🪩❤️‍🔥

&& You know the drill! In addition to my recurring donations, my ongoing birthday tradition with myself is to donate the number of years I’m turning to four of my favorite human rights orgs/initiatives so today I donated $30 to Dahnoun Mutual Aid (fully volunteer-run effort with 100% of donations going directly to families in Gaza), $30 to Envision Freedom Fund, FKA Brooklyn Community Bail Fund (largest community bail fund in the country,)$30 to First Friends of NJ & NY (Bond Fund to release our neighbors from immigration detention,) and $30 to Sidewalk School (rapid response org working to meet the basic needs of folks and children at the border.)
