Two years ago I had an idea to recreate one of my favourite skate photos of Jason Lee doing an Ollie one foot over a fire hydrant shot by Otis Barthoulameu (1990).
Possibly the worst aspect about living in the UK, I’m sure you’ll all agree on, is the lack of upright fire hydrants. So I went looking for a spot that would serve as a close enough resemblance. I luckily came across this manhole kicker to bollard set up and Louis seemed more than happy give the trick a go. Usually these sessions consist of hundreds of tries to try and fit the arms in the frame or get the stupid flashes to work but luckily we got the right one in only 11 attempts!
