About

W.E.B. Du Bois Honors Program is a prestigious academic-based program infused with community, student leadership and career readiness initiatives at Huston-Tillotson University, the first institution of higher education, and only HBCU in Austin, TX.

Established in 2003, the W.E.B. Du Bois Honors Program at Huston-Tillotson University seeks to attract academically gifted students whose high school accomplishments indicate their intellectual ability, level of motivation, and leadership potential.

Named in honor of Dr. William Edward Burghardt Du Bois, an intellectual of the twentieth century who’s lifetime dedication to academic excellence and community service inspires and informs the Program and all its participants.

The Honors Program offers students a unique opportunity to enrich their education at HT through specialized curricula (honors courses), seminars, and service learning opportunities, retreats, and cultural events.
