Monday was the first women in AI dinner in LA, and I left weirdly hopeful. Not the energy I usually leave AI rooms with. Started by @kyleemarie27 after building these in SF. The room was wildly diverse ( Founders, Artists, Engineers, Fashion people, Mothers, Students )Women deep in AI sitting next to women who barely know where to start but were curious enough to show up anyway. No weird hierarchy, no performative networking energy ( Thank God) ; just smart women asking uncomfortable questions in real time. This thing is about to touch every industry and every person alive. Creativity, motherhood, fashion, labor, identity, ALL OF IT. The whole night kept coming back to one line: Opting out is not neutral anymore. You don’t have to become an AI founder, but you have to engage enough to help shape where this goes. Otherwise we don’t get to complain later when the future gets built without us. So tell me, where are you with AI right now? Loving it? Terrified of it? Avoiding it? Secretly using it every day? Don’t stay quiet on this one. That’s how it stays a room of mostly men.
