🚨LINK IN BIO🚨. A System That Is Failing Our Children — And We Can’t Stay Silent Right now, somewhere in our community, a young person is getting dressed in the morning and making a decision no child should ever have to make — whether or not to carry a weapon to feel safe enough to walk out of their front door. That is not a choice. That is survival. We are living through a youth violence crisis that the system refuses to take seriously until it is too late. Until there is a funeral. Until a mother is on her knees. Until a father is identifying his child in a mortuary. Until a community is left broken, grieving, and screaming into a silence that no one in power seems to want to break. We call out the failures. We name the organisations that are not doing enough. We challenge local authorities, Violence Reduction Units, and commissioned services when they are taking funding meant for our communities and delivering nothing of substance in return. **And because we tell the truth — we are punished for it.** We are blackballed. Left out of rooms where decisions are made about the very communities we serve. Excluded from funding rounds. Overlooked. Undermined. The very authorities and organisations that should be standing beside us, supporting the work, and amplifying our voices — shut the door in our faces. Because we are inconvenient. Because we refuse to be silent. Because we will not sit at a table and nod while young people are dying.**The Power of One** is about exactly that — the power of one person choosing to care. One person choosing to act. One pound from one person is a statement that says: *I see what is happening. I will not look away. These children matter.* If 1,000 people give just £1 — we keep going. If 10,000 people give just £1 — we grow. If every person who has ever been touched by youth violence, who has ever feared for a young person they love, who has ever felt the system fail them — gives just £1 — **we become unstoppable.** £1 per week is £4 per month, so many life can be helped

Our first Beats & Eats of the year and what a way to kick off 2026 🔥 @thevibeadeliks (@james4ord @jakdanz @caspa724 @matrixkeys & Alex Robinson) last played together 11 years ago at Beats & Eats, so it made us reflect on the past 13 years of running #grassroots music events in our hometown, #Croydon... we did a lot of firsts.. We first started in 2013 at #matthewsyard with a birthday party, took the party to Surrey Street, ran a festival stage at east croydon station, opened up @boxparkcroydon and now 13 years later we celebrate together again! Big up to the family we have made along the way & we hope you can pop by @theovaltavern on sat 7th from 3pm to join in the celebration 🥳🎉

It’s a new month - which means a new photographer heading up our Substack newsletter. 📸 From tomorrow, we’ll be spotlighting the work of Rob Wilson Jnr aka @fluid4sight. He’s lived in and photographed Croydon for almost 20 years, drawn by its community, creativity and vibrancy. In that time, he’s seen A LOT of change in the borough. In his own words - “a lot of Croydon’s movers and shakers have since moved and shaken, moving on to other places and projects but many new people have arrived: Croydon still has that artistic energy and buzz and this feels to me like a new era”. Documenting this new era and telling this exciting new story is what continues to drive him. And how does he document that creativity? “I turn up, I talk to people, it’s simple and honest and human”. Across nearly two decades and a portfolio that spans portraiture, urban landscapes, and community events, some things never change - namely getting out there, making connections and remaining rooted in the community. In a world increasingly shaped by AI, he strives for authenticity, creating human connections that endure beyond algorithms. “With such a diverse multicultural community there are many stories still untold. I want to carry on telling those stories and serving my community. If anyone has a story to tell, please get in touch via my Instagram (@fluid4sight) DMs”. Swipe to see some of Rob’s portrait work - and sign up to our FREE newsletter (link in our profile) to see more of his urban landscape work over the coming month.
