UPDATE: <We have HIT our new 5k goal - we closed the campaign 🎉🙏❤️; with this $5k 41 beds will have been able to be bought and delivered in the last month to cover EVERY dog in the shelter including the dogs in ISO>🎉🎉 There were also 3 beds ordered and sent directly to the shelter as a result of the campaign for a total of 44 beds provided to the shelter!! 🎉🙏❤️❤️💯 HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED AND SHARED 🙏❤️❤️💯 There are still several more beds that will be ordered this week!

⁉️⚠️Did you know that nearly half of the dogs at Broward County Animal Care (located in Fort Lauderdale, FL) sleep directly on concrete floors? 💔🚫
✅That’s why we launched “A Bed for Every Dog” - a campaign to provide beds 🛌 for the dogs at our county shelter while they wait for their forever homes. These are the special raised cots which are both durable and indestructible, to make sure that the dogs are safe and don’t hurt themselves by chewing and eating beds (could cause a blockage ‼️).
Every donation, every share, and every act of kindness made a difference 🙏🥰.

Cowboy is safe with us now, but he still urgently needs your help. 🐶 Cowboy was an urgent dog at Broward County Animal Care with a deadline to get out of the shelter. He had previously been adopted and returned 2 times, so clearly he is an extremely challenging case. A loving foster stepped up wanting to help foster Cowboy, so Wags was able to save him before his deadline. However, she is several hours away from the rescue, so it is impossible for us to help provide the hands on training for Cowboy that he needs that we normally would be able to provide, and she is struggling to help him without this training. Your gift covers his training program at Canine Dimensions, supplies the trainer has specifically requested we purchase, as well as enrichment items and durable supplies on top of her fees so he can finally get the help he needs so he can stay in a loving home.

At Wags Dog Rescue And Training Inc, we stand by dogs like Cowboy until they’re settled and able to stay in a stable, loving home. ❤️ Your donation goes directly to his care and supports our work rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in need.

While waiting to be saved, Gordon is learning to trust again, he’s coming out of his shell more, and he’s accepting love. He deserves to have so many more years of this in his life! His days should be filled with gentle head scratches, yummy snacks, and laying his head on a comfy pillow. I promised him we would come together and find a rescue/foster to save him. I know, taking on a medical dog who will possibly need his leg amputated is not an easy ask. But I know he’s worth it. We can do this for Gordon! Look into his eyes…he wants to live! ❤️❤️

🚨💔 GORDON IS STILL AT RISK! HIS DEADLINE HAS NOT BEEN EXTENDED! 💔🚨

I spent more time with Gordon yesterday, and this sweet 7-year-old boy continues to break my heart.

He’s trying so hard to trust. 🥹❤️

He enjoys being outside, relaxing in the sunshine, and of course, his beloved SNACK SNACKS! Yesterday, I brought him a special treat, and he gobbled it right up.

But Gordon is still so frightened. Sudden noises and movements cause him to panic, and when he gets scared, he tries to run, dragging his injured right front leg behind him.

He’s also afraid of the leash. Yesterday, I ended up carrying him back inside because he was too frightened.

❤️ IMPORTANT MEDICAL UPDATE!

I emailed with shelter leadership, and their veterinarians agree that Gordon needs his injured leg amputated.

However, Gordon cannot have surgery until a rescue steps forward and he has somewhere safe to recover. The shelter environment is simply too stressful for him to recover from major surgery.

Once a rescue is secured, as plan will be made for his surgery. I am also willing to help fundraise toward his medical care.

🚨 BUT GORDON IS NOT SAFE!

His deadline has passed, it has NOT been extended, and he remains at risk.

I’m grateful the shelter has provided him with a big, comfortable bed, but a kennel is no place for a frightened, injured senior dog who desperately needs medical attention.

Every time I leave Gordon, I wish I could promise him everything will be okay. But I can’t. 💔

PLEASE, GORDON NEEDS A RESCUE NOW!

He deserves a chance to heal, feel safe, and finally know what it means to be loved.

PLEASE SAY PICASSO’S NAME. PLEASE SHARE HIS FACE.

I don’t want him to become another dog people scroll past, another name that gets forgotten, or another life that ends without enough people ever knowing him.

He is a dog I have spent time with, cared for, and come to love. I love this dog so dearly, and I desperately want him to have a chance at a future.

Please, I am asking you to help me make Picasso impossible to ignore.

Even if you cannot take him home, you can help make sure he is not forgotten.

PICASSO. PICASSO. PICASSO. ❤️‍🩹

Please help me fight for his future. He matters, and there are people who care deeply about what happens to him. I just want him to have a chance. He is at broward county animal care in Ft. Lauderdale !!

October is Pit Bull Awareness Month.

Often overlooked, misunderstood, and often judged just based on being looked at through a kennel door.

They deserve to be seen for the individuals they are!

Look beyond the breed. See the dog. ❤️

🚨💔 GORDON NEEDS A RESCUE NOW! PLEASE DON’T LOOK AWAY! 💔🚨

7 YEARS OLD | RESCUE ONLY | PAST HIS OCTOBER 7 DEADLINE

📍 Broward County Animal Care | Fort Lauderdale, FL
🐾 Gordon #A2480759

Yesterday, I shared Gordon’s story, hoping someone would step forward to save him. There was some confusion about his whereabouts, and I have since learned that GORDON NEVER LEFT THE SHELTER. 💔

He’s been there this entire time, even after his October 7 deadline.

Gordon was found trembling behind a tree on September 22. He was frightened, underweight, and suffering from nerve damage that has left his right front leg paralyzed.

His little paw curls underneath him, and he has developed sores from dragging it. He needs medical attention, and he needs a rescue willing to take on his care.

But PLEASE look beyond his injuries. 🥹

I spent time with Gordon, and what I saw was a sweet boy with the most soulful eyes, who still wants affection, gives kisses, and has so much love left to give.

He’s only seven years old. He deserves so much more than spending his remaining years behind shelter walls.

🚨 GORDON IS RESCUE ONLY AND NEEDS AN ORGANIZATION TO STEP FORWARD! 🚨

❤️🐾 THE DANIA PROJECT WILL HELP! 🐾❤️

Through The Dania Project, I am committed to organizing a fundraiser to help the rescue that pulls Gordon with his medical expenses. I know taking on a senior dog with medical needs is a tremendous commitment, and I want to help make that commitment a little easier.

Gordon has already been through so much. He shouldn’t have to face the rest of his life alone in a shelter.

🙏 PLEASE, RESCUES, WILL SOMEONE GIVE GORDON A CHANCE?

If you are a rescue organization interested in helping Gordon, please contact Broward County Animal Care directly.

If you cannot rescue, PLEASE SHARE, TAG RESCUES, and help get his story in front of someone who can.

Gordon has survived so much already. Please don’t let his story end on a shelter floor. 💔

🥰Butch is a 4 - year old, 92 lb snuggle bug who recently arrived at @wagsdogrescueandtraining and who loves to be loved! He went on a WAGSventure yesterday with one of our amazing volunteers and was a very good boy, he walks so nicely on a leash ❤️😊🐶 Hes extremely sweet with all people and has lived successfully before with a kid and other animals, but who has shown to be slightly selective here with his friends. He so far seems to prefer large female dogs. He would be great for a single person or couple looking for a big softy to snuggle with and take on long walks! ❤️🐶🥰 Butch is fixed, microchipped and UTD on all vaccines! He is also housebroken and crate trained. Text 📲 954-406-7352 or fill out an adoption app at www.wagsdogrescueandtraining.org to learn more about Butch! He’s been patiently waiting almost 800 days for a family of his own 💔 let’s help him get the family he deserves! #amstaff #adoptdontshop❤️ #americanbulldog #urgentdogsofmiami #houndmix
