This is something really personal and exciting for me to share…🖤🩷

Last spring, I saw a low-key ad’ looking for undiscovered singers to perform in public. I had no idea how big it was and if I had known, my confidence probably would’ve stopped me from trying.

But I applied anyway… And that one decision led something I’ll never forget.

After interviews, Zoom calls and auditions in Glasgow, everything started to feel very real. Then came a call that completely shocked me, I’d been selected for a new TV show called Your Song. Out of thousands of applicants, I was one of just a handful chosen.

We filmed in London over some unforgettable days. I got to perform and be surrounded by the most incredible people - artists I’ve admired for years and the kindest, most supportive team. It was overwhelming in the best way.

For a long time, I’ve struggled with confidence when it comes to singing. It’s always been my passion, but fear of judgement and not being ‘good enough’ held me back. I’d start, then stop… Again and again.
About five years ago, I became very unwell and was diagnosed with #pots @potsuk , #ADHD, #vestibularmigraine and chronic vertigo. For awhile, I felt like I’d lost parts of myself… Including my voice

As I’ve slowly taken my life back, I realised how important it is to hold onto the things you love. Singing is one of those things for me. Not because I’m perfect at it, but because it means something. That’s why I chose Back to Black by Amy Winehouse, a song my dad and I have always loved. For me, they also represents not going back to a place where I don’t want to be anymore… And how far I’ve come.

I’m so proud that I took that step and so grateful to everyone that supported me. Family, friends, cast and crew.

I’ve made memories. I’ll carry forever and met people. I’ll never forget.

A huge thank you to some incredible people @samhairwolfryder @palomafaith and @alisonhammond55 your kindness and words will stay with me. 🤍 Also George & Kat & the rest of the LP crew! 🫶🏻 @channel4 @yoursonguk 🫶🏻🫶🏻🥰 @samryderhq

although my story won’t be shown this time, I had the best experience and I’m so grateful for every moment!
