Beginning September 9, the Bureau of Land Management plans to round up 281 wild horses from Idaho’s Challis Herd Management Area, with approximately 146 slated for removal from the range.
If you are able to be there, GO OBSERVE. The BLM is offering escorted public observation opportunities during the gather.

These Green Kids in Namibia are loving their books! Love the Wild Foundation donated a package of our books to school children in Africa. A simple story can make a child understand how endangered animals are disappearing and that they can help. We love seeing how excited they are!

🐘 Meet Dhongibaba, the legendary lone bull of our area! Despite his musth phase, he's known for his calm and determined nature. Dhongibaba cleverly navigates fog-covered villages, exploring door-to-door for rice, wheat, and even homemade liquor. Villagers report close encounters, yet no harm. His name reflects his cool and steady demeanor amidst chaos. Fog poses challenges for monitoring, but we honor Dhongibaba as a unique legend of our region. #natureencounter #Elephant #asianelephant #conflictmitigation #wildlifeconservation

Field story - 02

It's just before fullmoon night, our monitoring team took position just beside the river bed at village border. Riik instruct the team , do not use any kind of flashlight, take the advantage of the moonlight. Follow the herd.
After we take position we confirmed our location to wildlife department control room via RT. after crossing the Asian highway and rail line herd stopped at " Machine khal " Ground. And then they decided where they will go, right left or straight. But if they choose left, it's direct to kestopur village. So we took our position on that point.

After few minutes RT call, herd of 16 crossed the road. And the countdown start. Where they will go.. What's there plan. Truth is they are the king of this land. It's their decision, and we believe if they wants to go they will go anyhow no matter how big the obstacle is... We!!! We are just the co ordinator between Elephant and human.. That's the ultimate truth..
