One year ago today I left my home town for the first time after a huge breakup and spending the summer living with friends. I moved into an apartment sight unseen because the unit next to my bestie was available. I've laughed, I've cried, I've taught classes, I've learned tarot, I've hugged, I've kissed, I've gotten new jobs, I've created cozy cardio, I've learned some of the city, and I've tried endless amounts of delicious foods. Without a doubt the best part has been meeting and learning alongside all of you. The community I've been welcomed by in the past year is why Portland already feels like home. 💖

Almost missed my one year anniversary with this sweet shop @strangepowerspdx ✨ It’s been such a welcome change to actually love where you work & who you work for. Painted this of Dev & Lara in June of 2025 and decided it needed a post on the grid.

As an artist, when a painting has found its home and you’ve spent a year without looking at it, revisiting offers a new perspective. Space away from finding flaws or noticing the areas that challenged me. All that remains is an appreciation for the story it tells and an admiration for techniques that I’d like to adopt for future paintings. Like this colour palette. Fuck it was challenging but it was also so much fun.
