What @gusjohnsonguitar and @phinehas_43_johnson are putting together with @low__gap is something special 👀

Their record ‘Geneva’ is already one of my favorite Kentucky albums of 2026, and unreleased songs like “Same Town” (heard here) ensure that I’ll be groovin’ to their country and rock infused jams for a looooooong time to come 🔥🔥🔥

Romanticizing Appalachian Ohio one more time before we enter full Texas mode. . .

This is Monroe County, Ohio. A rarity amongst Appalachian communities, Monroe County was originally settled by Swiss-Germans, rather than the usual scotch-irish of the rest of middle Appalachia. Because of this, Monroe County was the original Little Switzerland of Ohio before Sugarcreek usurped its claim.

Our great great uncle built the house on slide 4. Built it himself, and while he was a craftsman with that Swiss attention to detail, he was also a frugal man. This is why some light switches in the house are located in rather inconvenient locations. For example, the kitchen light switch is located in the stairwell.

Another little bit of info about this area:
Growing up, we referred to a smaller holler as a "run" and a larger, less claustrophobic holler as a "low gap."

I know some other Appalachian communities use those terms as well, but I just wanted to put that out there. . .
