As I’ve said in previous entries, Lowell, MA’s role in the American industrial revolution was so significant - and has been so well-preserved - that pretty much the entire city has been given landmark status and deemed a “National Historical Park.” Like any other national park, there’s a visitor’s center full of park rangers, and the whole deal. It seems weird to call a big industrial city a park, but if you stroll through the historical mill and canal district, which looks like it’s straight out of a period movie, it’s not hard to understand why. Also, like any other national park, Lowell’s streets are full of people sleeping in tents. I assume they’re all on fun camping trips. www.nps.gov/lowe/index.htm @lowellnps

Check it out! United States National Park Service Rangers have this 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor left in service at the Lowell National Parks Office. Car 4 originally assigned to the Boston National Park Office was used primarily as an administrative vehicle before being transferred up to Lowell. This specific cruiser went through 3 phases from being an unmarked cruiser, to having the previous graphics and now currently suits the brand new graphics for 2026. Along with somebody work to repair any rust on the vehicle, this cruiser only has 38,000 miles and is planned to be kept in service for as long as possible. This cruiser serves as a spare being mainly assigned to any seasonal rangers that work in Lowell, Massachusetts. Thank you to Lowell National Historical Park and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for bringing us together for such a meaningful celebration.
